So I had the 2 into 1 Borla muffler that's been recommended on just about every thread. Well it wasn't till it was on the lift, that the shop and I noticed that right after the muffler, instead of a turn down, it was a turn up, as in the exhaust tip went straight up into the cab. So after them having to make special angles of exhaust tubing and $250 later, we got the Borla installed.

I must say, I was EXTREMELY dissapointed in the sound. Sure, it's a tad louder and a tad more throaty, but barely noticeable. Everything else is stock exhaust wise. I was hoping for a little bit of a performance gain or a fuel mileage increase, but nothing. I do have a drop in K&N Air Filter.

Right now, I don't have the money for headers and a full Cajun exhaust or a CAI. It is on the list someday along with either a 90mm or 108mm LS7 Throttle Body, Electric Fan Conversion if I can find a much cheaper way, but get the same effectiveness than spending an insane $650 on it,also maybe Camshafts and obviously overpriced UpRev. The CAI apparently needs to be 4" and if I remember correctly. AIR raid is the only true 4". I really like Volant, but it's not a true 4" and it's super pricey.

But right now, I just want a louder exhaust. It still sounds almost stock. There is a guy making a 90mm TB adapter with the harnesses needed for $300. It's pretty damn expensive for what it 8s. Adapter, 2 harnesses and a ROM file f9rm UpRev. $200 sounds fair to me, but I'm sure it takes time out from the guy's schedule and he had to spend a little bit of time in R&D for the harnesses.. Once or if I get UpRev, I'm going to have an 87 octane economy tune, a 83 octane performance tune, a valet tune, towing tune and an E-85 performance tune.

Can I cut off the rear resonators and replace them with exhaust tubing or would that make it sound raspy? Would a large exhaust tip help with the sound?

$2000 for an exhaust is just expensive, but just realized that comes with UpRev,but is that the full blown UpRev that gives me every option? Now if this was a few years ago, I could afford it, but I'm not even in the position to start saving money till I move back to Texas and get back in the workforce. Can't work right now due to medical reasons and the only jobs where I'm living at now, is all hard manual labor, which I physically can't do. UT I'm going to try again as I'm renting my grandmother's house out cheap with my girlfriend. Rent will be $2t0.each. it's the electric bill in the exact summer months.that runs $300 month. I just need to make atleast $1e- $14/hr a jeez that's so pathetic compared to what I use to make on salary. Anyway, I'm getting off track.

I read B-Pipes are $90 a piece, but is that going to improve my sound?

What is the one item I can retrofit easily that will give me the sound I'm after before going with a $2k exhaust system?

FYI, I don't have to worry about emissions.

Just wait for headers. It'll be plenty loud then.

.I suspect you would get what you want for under $500 with a cat-back exhaust. Beyond that, go with a Flowmaster if you want loud, but don't expect to be able to have a conversation in the cab anywhere in the 1200-2200-ish range.

I have a cherry bomb extreme with a x pipe and dual resonated tips straight out of the muffler. It ends right before the rear axle. It was cheap and you can hear me coming from a mile away....

Friends don't let friends run flow master on their titans.
Catless bpipes will make it a fair bit louder, so if looking for a performance increase 2.5 bpipes have been shown to add 7-10 rwhp on the dyno. It won't be huge but it's something.
I'd save for the Cajun cat back as that set up has been proven to have the best gains.
Uprev is worth every penny over the handheld tuners, you'll see once you get there.

The absolute cheapest are exhaust cutouts before the muffler. You can run them open or closed with a plate that bolts onto them. I ran those for years before I had enough for a full exhaust. Next will be a catback system. Next is catless b-pipes, but you'll need Uprev for the codes and to make sure it's running right. Then it's headers.

Dynomax Race Bullet hands down for the loudest exhaust. I'm running a flowmaster scavenger pipe 2.5" inlet to a 3" outlet. Race Bullet with a 3" inlet and 4" outlet followed by a RBP tip at 5" outlet dumped in front of the rear axel. Your neighbors will all hear you coming and leaving. It's essentially a glass pack but sounds amazing but be prepared for cab drone.

I don't want to have a ridiculously loud truck, so no glass packs. I'm not looking to have the loudest truck, I'd just like the have my truck's current exhaust louder only because right now, its extremely quiet. Cajun B-Pipes aren't bad pricewise, but it actually is expensive, because you must purchase UpRev, so If I going to spend the $1000 for B-Pipes and UpRev, I'll just spend the $2000 for the full system that comes with UpRev from Cajun.

Again, can I just cut out the 2 rear cats and replace it with tubing? It's after the O2 Sensor.

I just didn't know if I could add an exhaust tip or (somewhere I could cut out and replace with) an inexpensive pipe to increase the sound. Just something. Just hugely dissapointed in the Borla everyone on the board told me to get. My 2008 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLT 5.3l had Flowmaster 40's dialed out the back. Sounded pretty good, especially from $300 which included the muffler and tips, then I traded out the Flowmaster 40 for a Spintech ProStreet 6000 and swapped out the chrome tips with some longer matte black tips. Holy cow. That truck sounded AMAZING! I was questioned all the time about it and said it was the best sounding exhaust they have ever heard, especially when I told them I had Midas put on just a muffler & dialed it out with chrome tips angled towards the corners of the bumpers (Flowmaster first, then the bulletproof Spintech) for $300 initially before the Spintech and new exhaust tips, which I'm trying to find those exact ones again.

So if if were to dual it out again and put those tips on it, instead if it being dumped before the rear axle will it finally get that sound? I wish I could go with another Spintech Pro-Street, but everyone said Spintech mufflers sound terrible on the VK65E motor ;-(

But now I torn if I ever want to pour any money into this truck. I test drove a 2017 Titan Pro-4X and OMG. That is hands down, the nicest truck out on the market. Plus, 2017's+ have a 10year/100k mile warranty. This truck had so many accessories, options, features, etc... it is much bigger than the previous Titan's. It has quite a bit more power, but it's a heavier truck, so it didn't sit me in my seat, so I can tell it's detuned/restricted and in need of UpRev so that would happen. The sales guy said I could have to dealer bump up the power. But with UpRev, there goes your power train warranty. The new brakes are AMAZING. Oh and it actually has a Limited Slip Differential with and an E-Locker just like our Pro-4X's have; 4 low, maybe 4 hi? Forgot. The new dark gunmetal grey 20's are the best looking stock wheels I've ever seen. The new massive disk brakes fill up the entire 20" wheels. And they put on some baddest effin offroad tires. They ditched the Rancho shocks and went with Bilstiens! Oh it road so nice. So smooth and supero quiet inside the cab too. Still has that awesome stock exhaust sound

Go test drive one. You'll fall in love with it.

You don't need uprev to run catless bpipes. My buddy had them on his 08 titan an he was running a bullydog GT donno ability to turn of any codes.

If I'm going to spend the money, I'm going to get UpRev so I can get rid of that 4WD hesitation off the start line. UpRev just removes more restrictions, allows me to advance the timing. I mean, if I could find a used Bully Dog, I'd go for it, as long as it made a difference so it would actually not be slower than my 2004 Titan 2WD. I mean, this has CVVT and slightly more power, not the mention, a high ratio rear end since it's 4WD & a Pro-4X. Which by the way, the new Pro-4X has a 420 (I think that's a exact number, maybe it's a 418 or something, but it's high rear end in into. Thats nuts! Just dissapointed they barely improved the fuel economy and the power didn't sit me in my seat. Seemed slower than I 2011. Ahwell, it's an offroad truck, not a race truck. So you guys who race your Titan, don't get with the new Titan. Instead of instant power, it's a smooth power delivery, much b8gger truck, many more options, which adds to the already heaviness & bulk of the truck. Average is 17. I think its 15/21, which in I guess isn't that bad since the truck in tests alot bigger alot ND a tad heavier. It has the flaps in the grill like the Ram that close off at highway speed for aerodynamics.

Go test drive a loaded Pro-4X or Platinum for the hell of it, aka for fun. I had to raise the seat so I didn't see so much of the hood. Also comes with cargo lighting under the rails, which I funny, cause I'm installing an aftermarket LED Cargo Bed Light kit today.

Ok, I g9t off track again. My bad. Just can't wait for a year or 2 sentences I can get one. it that means my 4th bike, 2018 Aprilia RSV4 Factory will have to wait. I'm 30, so it can't wait too long. 2 years, then 72 months and it'll be I to 40

I have the Borla 40348 Pro XS Muffler. Thats the exact muffler EVERYONE in this message board was saying to buy. If I would have known I had two pipes coming into the miffler, I would have bought a 2 into 2 muffler or just ran true duals, cause the shop would have charged me about the same since they had to make rhetorical inlet pipes go wider to go in the Borla muffler. I think they charged me a bit over $250 just to install a muffler and dump it right after the it. I have only had it on there for 1500 miles.

I spent $130 on the [email protected] thing and it's welded. My woman would kill me if I went and put a different muffler on there now. I had to tell her I had to do it because it had 95k miles on the truck, hence why I want to cut out the rear cats and replace the front cats with some high-low cats and also topd her "there was a CO2 smell inside the truck" which I didn't come up with that conclusion till after I got under the truck in the bay at the shop and saw that the piping from the muffler where it angles up to go over the axle was completely missing, so it was pointed up.

What muffler or muffler system you have in mind? Like I said, can't spend too much now, so I have to either save up the $2k or wait for tax time for a full Cajun system with UpRev. I also don't want a raspy or an obnoxious sounding truck.

When I was at the shop, I instantly knew I was going to be dissapointed. The guys at the the shop told me it was go8ng to be quiet. He said, that's why I rec9kmend attend sell Flowmaster. But I didn't want Flowmaster. I really like the actual sound of the muffler, it's just literally quiet.

So can I cut off the rear cats? Will a 4x15" or 4x10" muffler tip help? What muffler are y9u thinking of? I was thinking of just running true duals for now.l with only 2 cats

After I changed my spark plugs yesterday and did the snorkel airbox mod, I took video of it. I did the snorkel mod first and I noticed an improvement in sound and acceleration. I also cleaned and re-oiled my K&N drop in filter. I also rerouted my wiring, relays & ballasts for my Morimoto 50w Low beams and installed Morimoto 50w high beams HID'S (5500k bulb).

I only buy the good stuff; Morimoto from the Retrofit Source. Best customer service, quality, pricing and warranty. $150 for a complete HID kit is [email protected] good..been running Morimoto from TaRS since 2008.. even have their 50w HID kit with their Morimoto Mini H1 7.0's Bi-Xenon Projectors in my 2014 Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 ABS (what a pita to separate the lense from the housing since they use permanent epoxy now) with 3 series of Morimoto XC RGB LED Angel Eyes/ Halos; 80mm, 110mm, 100mm in that order from front to back. Always run the 5500k XB35 bulb. Everyone else always has problems. Flickering, won't ignite, bulbs burn out, ballasts burn out. I've NEVER had anything go out with my HID'S. However, I've been having problems with the stupid connectors/plugs they use for the halos. The pins always come out of the connectors and since they use such small.wiring and such small connections on the actual halo itself, they separate. It's tough to repair the halo by resoldering it back in place, cause it's such a small lead on the halo. It's impossible to fix the connectors. You just have to bypass the harness and solder the wires and heat shrink them directly. They have sent ke so many replacements, its hard to complain. But anyway, I'm gett8ng easy off track here.

My truck seems to haul @ss now, but I'm sure I'd change my opinion if I were to get into a 2WD Titan that isn't restricted in 1st gear from a dead stop. I 5ook my GoPro Session with me. I need to do some editing and then I'll upload it.

You need to call me. The Borla PROXS is the only Borla to fit the dual inlet pipes on the 07+ but it is very tame even dumped with the stock manifolds in place. Stay away from duals as that will coat you even more money with no gains and possibly loss of torque. These trucks are unique and what works on a domestic does not necessarily work on a Titan. I can help you find what you are looking for. Call me....number is on the website.

Go to rockauto.com, buy dynomax 19411 for $332 after finding a 5% off code using an online search, plus shipping will be around $375 total. Go to dynomax.com, print out the rebate form, mail it in, get $75 rebate, and now you have a pretty good set up for $300 total. If you don't have $300, go drill a couple holes in your muffler

I think your right. I think they advertise it as SS but I think they are lying, looks aluminized. The bends don't look bad, and there aren't very many at all. It's cheap, fits good and sounds good.
