Okay so here it goes. About 3 weeks ago I started hearing this loud humming noise, I would compare it to driving with 44 inch mud terrains. Also this noise came with a slight vibration. When I drove it and turned to the left noise goes away when I turn right it sounds like all hell is breaking loose. So as all are you are thinking, must be a wheel hub bearing. Nope.... took it to the shop and they said both hubs are fine. So I went to a friends shop so we could put the truck on the lift and locate this issue. We noticed the CV axle where it attaches to the front differential has substantial play (driver side) about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of play. Now my question is guys, would this cause the vibration and noise? Have any of you guys tackled this job before? Is this bearing only able to be reached dropping the diff? Also another clue, my VDC SLIP AND BREAK lights are on, I'm assuming caused by the cv vibrations? I thought I might have read on here that the drivers side cv has play in it, is that bs? Any help would be awesome. Thank you
