Hey everyone,

I have been lurking on this board for a while now, but I still can't decide which Titan to get. I have done plenty of research on this truck, so I am aware of all the options that each trim level are equipped with. To stay in my price range I am looking at either a Crew Cab XE or a King Cab SE. I am trading in a Ford SportTrac so I am used to having a large backseat for passengers. I am leaning towards the KC SE. I am not too concerned with passenger room, but I would like to know everyone's opinion on the room in the back seat of the KC. Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can hardly wait until I get one of these trucks!!!!!!!!

If you have always had a crewcab style truck, stick with the crewcab. When you get the KC and keep the truck, you will feel bad not having that extra space.

Its a must if you have passengers IMO.

Welcome to titantalk

I agree you are use to a crew cab get that...I have one and the space is large...all the room in the world, the room in back of the king cab i find small, my fiance sat back there when i test drove one and she couldnt even sit straight forward and shes only 5'4...remember black is the fastest color

4wd Off_Road package

make sure you get the 4wd Off_Road package (with a rear Locker) with the Rckford Fosgate stereo, rest is trivial. tho Side Air Bag's good.

Smoke is THE fastest color

It is canteen that is the fastest guys. As far as teh choosing goes, I guess you have to ask yourself what you want more; more interior or exterior space? More options or more space. Kind of a giive and take. I like the CC, but that is for my needs. Also, you get more chrome with the SE.

jhromy,

I was looking at a truck just like yours, except 4x2. Black is the color I am looking at since it gives you at least 5 additional horses  I do, however, like the chrome accents, side moldings, and floor shifter on the SE. But the advantage to having a column shifter, is an extra passenger up front. This is a big decision.

But, I do know that as long as I have the Endurance, I will be happy!!!

I agree except for the RF stereo, and make sure it is Galaxy Black because they are trully faster.

I too will chime in on getting the CC over the KC... Best decision... You will be VERY thankful for the extra space and comfort. I did opt for the Big Tow Package as well but looking back, I would have liked to have added the 4x4 Off Road package instead of settling on the 4x2...

In Phx... Blizzard White is by far the fastest... ;-)

The King Cab really isn't comfortable at all. I test drove one and had the salesman drive around the block when I was in the backseat. It wasn't fun.
hogfan, It so completely depends on your needs and your background.

For me I would never waste the space that could be in the bed for a huge backseat that is not going to get a lot of use. As far as it not being comfortable, well opinions very there too, I found the back seat to be roomy and darn comfortable. No, it ain't no Maybach but it sure is better for comfort and room compared to a Silverado or an F-150 of the same configuration.

I'm buying a truck, I can't live with a little 5' bed...

It seems like everyone here is biased towards the CC for some reason. In reality however, the SportTrac doesn't really have a "large" back seat in comparison to other vehicles. The Titan's back seat in a KC is quite sufficient for normal driving. Would I want to take a week long road trip back there? Probably not. But for that matter I wouldn't want to sit in the back of a CC for that long either. MO Titan hit the nail on the head when he said it really depends on whether you want interior or exterior space more. By the way, I regularly haul around a group to and from lunch and put 3 people in the back of my Titan. Nobody's ever complained. In fact, they all thought it was rather large for a KC truck.

i added the chrome door handles and mirror covers...as far as the front i fell in love with the all black front end...it looks awesome...I have to agree with the extra horses for the black...Nissan seems to favor that color...

Hogfan - being from central AR - I would not purchase a black truck for this area- just look at your windows and notice that everything right now is GREEN. I have the CC - its great for the family, lots of room. And to clear up any misunderstandings, Silver is by far the fastest. I guess everyone else is wrong - since I've been told that I drive a rice rocket , I must be the fastest. Black is only fast at night (when no one can see you), Smoke only camouflages the issue, the Brawn Red makes you a tough stop sign, and Deepwater is good for submarine racing. Plus being a Radiant Silver I'm going fast in style and grace :hi:[/QUOTE]

I have a KC and have never had problems with rear seat room. I'm 6' and I've had 6'4" passengers in the back without complaints. I've also carried loads that would not have fit in the bed of the CC. But, if you're moving up from a SportTrak, a large bed doesn't seem to be a preference of yours.

By the way, black is fastest. The pearl effect makes for better aerodynamic drag coefficients.

See thats what I keep telling everyone. I also think that the black color which attracts heat causes the air around the truck to heat up and move away from the truck, causing a vacume which alows the truck to move through the air without friction, thus making it the fastest titan by far :jester: :jester: .

Again, black is only the fastest at night - when no one can see you. The only thing that I've seen black attract is dirt and swirl marks!!

I debated the same things for a while before I bought mine. We have three kids that get hauled around, but 90% of the time I am the only one in my truck. The kids are fine in the back of the KC for short trips around town. Besides, I need the bed space for the fourwheeler and other such hunting impliments. I just gotta have the ability to haul 2X4's or plywood without worrying about flagging them.

Oh yeah, by the way, RED ALERT is definitely the fastest color out there. Sorry guys. but my truck is hot in that color!

Here's my two cents worth. I started with an 04 KC LE 4x4 in radiant silver. It was a great truck and I never had a problem with it. One thing I did notice though, we had a 45 mph south wind one day and I was driving into it. I started hearing a relay click somewhere and then noticed my interior lights were coming on when the relay clicked. On that same trip, I was driving crosswind and also got the clicks. Never did figure it out, other than it had to be a door sensor somewhere activating due to pressurization? Dealer was stumped as well.
I wanted a new truck in December and got an 05 LE CC 4x4 in Red Brawn (the absolute fastest color). One thing I noticed immediately was how much more solid the door sound is when it closes. The cab is much more rigid due to the door post. Check it out at the dealer and you'll see what I mean. The back seat in the CC is big, but I've heard people say their kids gripe about the seatback angle, so I don't think I'd want to ride across country in either a KC or a CC, but for around town and for loading items or hauling people, the independent rear doors are really nice. AND with the CC you also get the power rear window and reverse sonar (not sure about that on an XE).

You'll be happy with either one, just answer your needs at the dealer before deciding.

The pollen is bad this time of year. My Sporttrac is black. Not quite as bad in Conway though as it was when I lived in Southern Arkansas. The short bed, along with the puny 4.0 V6, are the two main reasons I am wanting to get rid of the Trac. Even the bed length on the CC would be an improvent over the 4' bed I have now.

Why do people hate black so much? Because it's faster.

I think everyone here has pretty much covered the CC vs. KC. Are you buying it for you? Who will drive it most? How often will the back be used? How often will the bed of the truck be used?

NOW, with that said, from the way you talked, it would be an XE in the CC and an SE in the KC, right? In that case, how much difference is the SE going to mean to you? You have to drive it everyday...you don't want to get an XE and wish you had an SE.

I wish I could have afforded an LE with Nav :crying: Guess I'll just have to settle for what I got and add the leather later :D
