Hey guys, installing a new FM super 44 this weekend. Not doing the whole catback yet as the funds are restricted, but i want to get some better sound.

I've never done anything like this, i'm having a friend who is a master mechanic help me out. Not sure if we'll be bolting on or welding on yet, but i'll let him decide that.

Any tips or things to look for while we do the install? Any recommendations for a cleaner install or things to do while working on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's not that difficult to chop off the old and install the new muffler. From what I've heard (I just did a whole catback) you'll have to do some slight modification to get the pipes to line up.

Just about any muffler will work fine until you put headers on and then the ball game changes. My advise is prepare for headers and what works to save $$$$ down the road when the manifolds crack. Borla, JBA and 22-24" Magnaflows are proven to work. Never heard the Carven so no input there.

If someone is feeling like trying a new muffler that hasn't been used often on the Titan, use one of Vibrant Performance's universal mufflers. They are oversized Ultra Quiets and those have proven to be excellent.

Use a Vibrant muffler (1103), 5x9 oval and 20'' overall length and then a vibrant ultra quiet post muffler. Probably sounds good.

If not go with the tried and true Borla Xr1 and vibrant ultra quiet.
