Hey all,
New(ish) here. Just chopped in my 08 SV for a 2017 PRO-4X. So far pretty happy. Not that impressed with the Bilstein shocks though. They work pretty well at normal speeds, fairly compliant, truck corners okay but the biggest issue is there is NO (zero) rebound damping. You hit something with authority...dip, rolling speed bump, etc. and the truck acts like a pogo stick. My 2008 with 5100s was much better in this regard. Looking for a solution from Fox or Icon. Should have something out in first quarter of 2018.
I'm a little concerned about tranny issue some have had. I do notice a slight lag when accelerating so will have to check into updates during first service.
One thing I have noticed is a small leak at right front (approximately right behind front axel). Thought it was condensation from AC as the fluid on the ground is completely clear but, there is a slight oily feel to the fluid when I touch it (not high viscosity oil but oily none the less). Anyone have any thoughts or experienced this yourself? Yes, I will have dealer check it out at first service but I generally find that folks on these forums are more likely to give you an honest answer than your typical service rep.
Cheers and thanks in advance!
