Hey all,

New(ish) here. Just chopped in my 08 SV for a 2017 PRO-4X. So far pretty happy. Not that impressed with the Bilstein shocks though. They work pretty well at normal speeds, fairly compliant, truck corners okay but the biggest issue is there is NO (zero) rebound damping. You hit something with authority...dip, rolling speed bump, etc. and the truck acts like a pogo stick. My 2008 with 5100s was much better in this regard. Looking for a solution from Fox or Icon. Should have something out in first quarter of 2018.

I'm a little concerned about tranny issue some have had. I do notice a slight lag when accelerating so will have to check into updates during first service.

One thing I have noticed is a small leak at right front (approximately right behind front axel). Thought it was condensation from AC as the fluid on the ground is completely clear but, there is a slight oily feel to the fluid when I touch it (not high viscosity oil but oily none the less). Anyone have any thoughts or experienced this yourself? Yes, I will have dealer check it out at first service but I generally find that folks on these forums are more likely to give you an honest answer than your typical service rep.

Cheers and thanks in advance!

I also purchased a 17 Pro4X about a week ago. I'm a bit disappointed in the Bilsteins also. I'm also having some funny shifting already. My wife has 17 Armada and it shifts much better. Overall I am loving the truck though. It is my first Nissan truck. That leak you described sounds like A/C condensation to me. That is about where I see it after parking the truck after running A/C.

So I just left 4 Wheel Parts (I know, I know), but they're having a pretty decent holiday sale at the moment. ICON Stage 1 kit is (0-3" lift up front 0 in back) normally $1700 is on sale for $1450 with additional $300 for installation. Very helpful sales person contacted ICON and confirmed the 04-15 kit will fit the 17 PRO-4X with one caveat, you can only run 1.75" of lift up front unless you add UCAs. This works out fine for me as there is exactly 1.75" of rake front to rear (measured) on my PRO-4X. Will probably only set it up for 1.5" either way.

My goal is to get rid of the rubbish Bilsteins 4600s and level the truck out. I will also be able to run 285/65-18s on the stock wheels. Seriously considering this option as I still need to load bikes in the bed so,don't want to lift too much.

It's a little pricey to be sure but will give me the good quality coil overs I'm after and level it out.

Thoughts?

Cheers

Which FOX shocks did you install?

Okay....I see now. You get FOX shocks with a Raptor! Hahaha. Want a Raptor but too rich for my blood. Figure my ICONs will provide me with a "poor man's Raptor"......sort of!

Cheers
lol.

Its gonna be great for the travel the truck has stock. It'll handle all the bumps perfectly. Especially the rear shock upgrade. "planted" is how i would describe how my old titan felt once i finally upgraded to Fox 2.0 rear shocks.

Sadly the ICON 2.5 coil overs didn't level my Pro4x out. Only lifted the front 0.75" when I need 1.75". Didn't drive it so no idea how it would feel with the coilovers. Had them put the stock Bilsteins back on.

Bummer!

Guess the wait for decent suspension continues.

run a .5" thick aluminum spacer between the coilover top hat and the coil bucket.

Not going the spacer route...whole reason I popped for the ICONs. Preload was set to max (1.25" of thread showing above the preload adjuster) which netted 0.75". A 0.5" spacer would bring total to 1.25" am I needed 1.75" total to level it out.

Will just wait (and try to be patient) for coilovers specific to this trim level.

. 5 spacer alone should get you close to 1 inch.

a small spacer won't ruin anything. I bet ICON will just use a longer lower eyelet for the new shocks IE same thing as adding a smaller spacer up top.
