Hey all. I'm trying to generate interest across the FB groups and here on the forum for a new ram air hood.
As I'm sure many of you know, our options are fairly limited on that front. As far as I know we have Keystone, and Suncoast/Amerihood (which look nearly identical). That being said, I have been talking to a great company called RKSport. They are a family owned business operated in the good old U.S. of A. I dealt with their head sales and marketing rep, named Cesar. Very prompt, polite and informative guy. They recently started making products for Nissan, kicking it off with the '16+ Cummins. I saw the hood, was blown away by it, and wanted to see if they would consider producing one for the first gens. To make a long story short, they will. Their terms are this:
20 pre-order deposits of $300.
Total price:
$775 shipped for 20-24 pledges ($300 deposit is included in this, $475 remainder).
$675 shipped for 25-34 pledges ($300 deposit is included in this, $375 remainder).
$600 shipped for 35+ pledges ($300 deposit is included in this, $300 remainder).
Total turnaround time (following SEMA): 6-8 weeks.
Ram-Air Hood price comparison:
Suncoast: ~$975 shipped (suncoast website)
Keystone Good Hood: ~$870 shipped (summit racing)
Amerihood Type-S: ~$650 shipped (Amerihood website)
Once 20 deposits are taken, and SEMA is over with, they will begin a mold. By the time all is said and done, the hoods should be good to ship by the end of the year/first week of January, provided the 20 deposit threshold is met before SEMA.
I'll be in constant contact with him over the next couple of weeks trying to organize this. I already know of a few people that are interested. I will use this thread to consolidate the names and numbers I acquire from other sources as well.
Please, shoot me a PM with your real name, or post up here if you are interested. Let's make this thing happen!
