Edit: I got these installed today - scroll down for pics...

I spent a very long time looking for running boards to put on my silver '07 KC. I really prefer the look of running boards but most of the running boards I found for the Titan were too wide and/or interfered with the mud guards. So I was having trouble deciding what to do until I came across these:

Kind of a cross between nerf bars and a running board - basically a flat nerf bar. They look pretty nice in the pictures and the price is right so I just ordered the ones that are silver powdercoat over billet aluminum. I'm hoping these will blend in with my silver paint and not be too noticeable. Now the long wait for delivery from TX.

I'll post pics here once I get them installed...

70Datsun:

I did a google search for your "Style Sides" but didn't turn anything up. Got any info on those?

My second choice was going to be the Lund 261230 TrailRunner Diamond Plate Aluminum Running Boards which I thought looked really nice. I like the looks of polished diamondplate. But I was worried that they would stick out too far and I'd be bruising my shins up. LOL.

P.S.
I spent my entire childhood riding around and camping in the back of a '74 Datsun PU. Then I drove it until I went to college. My dad sold it 15 years ago with almost 200K on it and last month he saw it on the road for the first time since then!! It was definitely the same truck - same custom wheels and Zolatone bed treatment. Amazing.

The step rails arrived via FedEx last night and I installed them this morning. Very pleased with the overall look on my radiant silver titan (pics below). To me it looks more factory than the factory rails on silver, if that's the look you're going for. Personally I didn't want my step rails to stand out - I just wanted them to be functional and blend in.

The fit and finish of the rails themselves is excellent. These are powder-coated aluminum and the powder coating looks good and seems like it will be durable (time will tell) and provide good traction when wet. The mounting system is pretty sturdy, but the build quality on the brackets left something to be desired. Also, the brackets are just painted black steel so not sure about how durable this will end up being there under the rocker panels. The installation instructions were marginal. You get two sets of three brackets that are opposite from each other, but there is no way to tell from the instructions which side they intend for which set to go on. Either set will fit on either side. I just guessed and it probably doesn't really matter anyway...

For the low price of this kit, I think the minor complaints are well within reason. It's a good value in my opinion. Now I'll see how they hold up to use and the weather!

Those do look pretty nice. I too wanted to get away from the "everybody and their Grandma has them" look of the tube steps. Too bulky-looking IMO. And at some point, if the brackets start peeling or rusting, it shouldn't be too much to powdercoat them. Nice job!

I agree, the step rails look like they belong on a van. The nerf bars are o.k. looking. I guess I'm not a fan of any running board.

Hi guys,

Not sure I understand the comment about mini-van look. I don't see any minivans with running boards - SUVs maybe. In any case i wanted something different (nfab is cool but not on a 2wd in my opinion) and very functional. These fit the bill.

My kids love them - they can actually get in and out of the vehicle now. They used to complain whenever they had to ride with Daddy in the Titan. Now they beg to!

Lookin Great Jarrod.... I used to have a set of bars on my 04 from those guys. I was able to pick them up as they are here in town. I would HIGHLY Recommend you take a bolt back out of one of them, got to Lowes or similar, and replace all the Bolts with real SS ones. I broke one off installing them. They look like a quality bolt but they are crap. I wouldn't let anyone step on them until I did it, especially the wife and son.

Just me maybe..
