New Titan Owner looking for Utili-Trac

Hey guys! Just wanted to say "Hi!". I bought my first Titan about 8 weeks ago and I'm loving it. I bought a 2008 Pro-4X King Cab with the PK7 package (Leather/Rockford Fosgate/Hands-Free phone). I'm loving it! I've been a Nissan fan for a long time and also currently own a 1998 Frontier King Cab XE and a 2002 Pathfinder LE 4X4. Look forward to many years of great riding.

My truck did not come with the Utili-Trac package. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket equivalent or does anyone have one for sale. My dealer told me it was not an add-on option. Anyone know for sure?

I was initially told the same thing but after the service guy did a little more digging he did find the parts needed to put this together. He then went on to mention the installation dillema...he said that it would be a bear to install after the fact. He basically said forget doing it yourself. He was a bit pessimistic to begin with though.
There's an older thread around here that talks about how to install the utili-trac system on yourself. From reading the thread, it did not look easy at all.

On top of that, my understanding is the factory installed utili-trac has re-enforced bracing behind the tracks. If you install the system yourself and it did not come factory, this is something that you do not have/get.
why would they do away with that option for the 08's?

Or is it still available, but just not as a stand alone option?
Here's the thread.

It's not easy.

AFAIK it's still an option, but there is reinforcement in the bed for it. If it's not on the truck, it's a bear to install and still have the same utility and integrity of the factory option.
The utilitrac comes standard with the Utility Bed Package on the 08s. But if your truck didn't come with the bed package then you're stuck trying to install the utilitrac yourself like in the thread BB linked to.
I'd recomend at least installing the rails on the floor those are sweet.
Fuq the rest I never use those.
I have the whole system I took off my 04 to put tool boxes and a ladder rack on. I'll let you have it as is for $100. This includes 3 or 4 cleats, the side and front rails, and a bed extender made to operate on the utilitrac system.
I'll take that deal if its open to me. Hell, ill send you a hundred dolla bill.

That's a stupid good deal. People are charging that much for just the cleats, and twice that for just the bed extender.
Yeah, I'd easily pay $200 for it right now for that. Can I send paypal??
And to add to it, I was supposed to be installing two of these systems on non-equipped Titans this weekend, but those plans fell through. I did alot of research on this, and quite honestly, it doesn't look that hard to me. The hardest part is finding the initial holes to line up the bedside rails. After you have those starter holes, the rails themselves can be used to line up the rest of the holes. The bottom rails are simple. The front part of the bed, has bolts right there for it, just remove the bolts and bolt on the trac.

Also, my research has concluded that the supposed extra reinforcement is pretty much a non issue. The only place that has extra reinforcement is on the side of the bed where the two rails would meet, above the wheel wells. Simply adding a large, 6"x6" backer plate of sorts would achieve the same effect as what the factory did. Note that this area appears to be a ***** to get to. In one of the how to threads, it shows using a piece of PCV pipe as an extension. I think if the wheel/tire was removed, along with the plastic pieces in the fenderwells, one could simply reach right up in there from both sides of the wheel well.

My 2 cents.

It all mine guys....Ill give you the real scoop on install by next w/e...
Wow, that is one heck of a deal. I'm still trying to find extra cleats and a set of 4 will go for around $100 now. It's like you're getting the extender and rails for free. :D
Yea no lie!!!
Yea, if the guy would follow thru and call me as he said he would inna PM on Friday.
wow...I've been caught sleeping. I would have given him the $100 and picked them up, no problem. When I bought the truck, they told me the Utili-trac is a factory installed option only. The particular truck I wanted did not have this option and it would be another $1000.00 to get a identical truck with Utili-trac package, plus it would have to be driven in from Austin. I don't really like the factory bedliner and I didn't want to overpay for the tow hitch, so I opted out. I like the Utili-trac for the overhead rack that you can take on and off. I will be using my truck for work and play, so those would come in handy when I need to carry extension ladders.
