So I bought my titan a few weeks ago and I love it. Only a few problems though. When I turn the heat on to upper and lower it makes a clicking sound for like 10 seconds then shuts off. The sound is coming from the inside the dash. Also when I am accelerating from a stop sometimes the slip comes on and it sounds like its grinding something. Any help at all to a young kid with a big truck:redblob"

For the slip light, are you accelerating hard and loosing traction? Do you feel the truck loosing power? If thats the case than its doing what its meant for, which is to control the power output of the truck so you dont lose control. Its annoying as heck when your trying to screw off. I turn my vdc switch to off.:redblob"
No its not when I'm showing off :teethmast but when I am like accelerating from a stop. Now that I have the big titan everyone calls me when they get stuck (which is a lot. Tonight I had to go pull my friends subaru wrx after being frame hung) and I put it in 4lo and it sounded like it was grinding again. It took a while to pull him out but the trusty titan never fails. Is the grinding something I should have looked at or is it the slip doing its stupid job?
thanks :teeth:

I have the same ticking sound coming from the dash when I use the controls for the heat. I took it to the stealership and they told me it was the metal cooling down. I know it doesn't make any sense to me either. I have had it going on for quite a while now, I just ignore it, if you figure out what it is though please let me know I am curious about it.
My slip makes an odd noise. I think its a normal sound. I believe its the computer applying the brakes.

The clicking sound is the plastic gear that rotates the flapper from one position to another, i.e. from the head and foot mode to just the head mode. There is a write up on here as to how to change out the gear if you find it just too annoying to live with. I read through the write up and it seems extremely simple, the writer of the procedure said the hardest part was just trying to get underneath the dash to see what you are doing when trying to change it out. Mine does the same thing, but it doesn't seem to bother me. I will live with it until the gear finally strips out and quits working, then I will attempt to get my big butt under there and change it out.
