Not sure what my old log in was here from 12 years ago...But I own a 2005 with 215,000 miles and its getting time for a new truck. I feel like this truck has served me well, and sure its had problems, but well with in reason in my opinion.(unlike the 05 Xterra which was a disaster) Like many the roll out of the Gen II was about as disappointing as the resulting sales results for Nissan. Wholesale lack of innovation(useless Diesel option does not count), 1984 GMC column shifter straight from some goof ball in Japan, some cheap components...ect. For me I buy the best I can, since I drive it for so long, and 4x4 is a huge component of that. These days Raptor and Power Wagon have the best packages obviously. I was set on a Raptor, but slowly the insanity of another bad roll out, high pricing, staggering quality control issues and scary reliability issues....I am leaning away. Power Wagon is a bit more proven, all be it not the king of reliability. Love the winch, sway bar disc, front locker, ram boxes....It is quite slow though.( and my 05 Titan is still fast as hell)
Anyhow, if Nissan made the Warrior, I am in. I am seeing some new talk about it in 2018, and a comment by Nissan that if they can meet sales goals for regular trucks they will make it....WTF???? You make it to dramatically increase your base model sales, how can these marketing guys have so much wrong, and be so back wards, mine boggling. 30K Raptors a year(limited by production) mean nothing to Ford other then super high profit margins and the fact it sells so many regular F150s.....I digress, the Warrior would take a miracle.
If I throw out the Raptor for comparisons sakes, and since Tundra does not have a rear locker, a required package component since ancient times....Fords best package out, hate GMC....The Titan and Ram are the same price from what I can tell, in for about 55K. HD Gas Pro x vs Wagon with typical 10K discounts. Obviously you get a lot more for your money with the Ram(also love the ram boxes)....except reliability, no better technology, and maybe slightly better gas mileage now, which is odd.
I am just go crazy here, and the time is growing near. Usually I am so much more decisive on a vehicle purchase.
