Personally, too much Ford looking features for my taste. I always liked the unique look our current Titan's carried. This re-design, not so much.

I know right. Once finding out about the design team, I was left disappointed and wondering what else will be off with the expectation there's more to be wrong.

At the end of the day, they'll just care that it brings in the volume they want till making it more unique to Nissan becomes a winnings strategy to save dropping sales volume.

I think it looks a lot like the evolution of the Titan from most angles, even though the XD is not what we should be comparing our current gas Titans to. I'm confident the standard gasser will be a good looking rig. The white does make it come together a bit better than other colors I've seen.

You know what makes this white XD a little better looking....? A poor quality camera and a lot of distance. It's unfortunate that they made this truck so ugly. Here's a good looking white Titan

Your truck is cool but the photo quality in the article is higher than what you posted.

^^^^^^^^^^. Hahahahahahah
Maybe they should lower the quality a little more and make people think it may be a decent looking truck.

There's no replacement for displacement. A [email protected] truck with a small, low output engine= slow and thirsty. On the other hand, like I've said, those numbers are right on par with an 05 F250. Like another article says, this truck fills a void that was vacated a decade ago. SMH
Timing is everything. I think Nissan missed it's window of opportunity.....8+years in the making for the diesel Titan. The more info released, the less interested I am in purchasing a XD. Maybe, just maybe could the gasser be the missing link that will keep Nissan in the truck market? It's sink or swim, especially with the less than stellar sales of our current model.

I'm starting to think the gasser will have a more simplified look and not as hyped up as the diesel. But I could be wrong, they might have reasons for keeping the gasser just a good for all we know, but I really wont mind a toned down look.

On a positive note, it's going to have the Infinity direct injection motor. Good for a few more ponies and tq. Hopefully those numbers aren't a wash from added weight of the new design.

The non XD will be lighter. Nissan has already stated it does not share the XD frame or some of it's running gear. I wouldn't be shocked if the 1500 Titan has an 8 speed transmission. I will bet Nissan looks to vastly improve the mpg over the current models. The rumor on the appearance is a smaller and different front clip, hood and fenders but same from the cab back. Kind of like what Ford is doing with the F150 and the 2017 Superduty.

The question is, how do you improve on the current half ton Titan, without canibalizing XD sells? If you update the engine to 400hp/450ftlbs of torque to keep up and maybe beat the big 3, with a truck that weighs 1500lbs less, the only logical outcome will be a WAY faster, MORE POWERFUL, funner truck, that by default has just as good a tow rating, or dare say better than the 11k high end pigs. What do they do? Just slap 10k on the rating sticker? Or, will they make them inferior, on purpose?
