The wife said it was time to cut back some debt so last week I traded my 2014 Tundra for a 2006 Titan SE. White, crew cab purchased from the original owner with only 57,000 miles. The guy I purchased it from had ever service documented so it was too good a deal to pass up (new tires and brakes 2,000 miles ago).

The truck was surprisingly clean, but did get buffed the day I bought it and had a good interior cleaning.

It runs great, is there anything I need to know about this year or important recalls that should have been handled by now? Thanks!

Welcome to the other side. You have a great truck but the Titan does have issues with the manifolds cracking usually in the 90K-130Kmile range. Brake judder was also a issue on the 04-06 Titans and most will upgrade to aftermarket rotors and pads to fix the issue. Check the a/c drain hose for leaks in the cab which will soak the carpet. There was a tsb out on a/c drain hose and it's a easy home fix also. When the manifolds crack it's time for headers,Uprev and Bpipes so give me a call.

Low miles for an 06. Just a few items to check. Rear axle seals for leaks, exhaust manifolds(sounds like an old ford on a starting up if they are cracked and sometimes a cel Light comes on) oem struts wear out but that's no biggie if it rides good it can wait. ran mind to 100k. Spark plugs are good for 100k miles plus. As long as general maintenance has been done you should be good to go. 75w-140 gear oil in the front and rear diffs if they have never been changed. Others will chime in on more detailed stuff but that would be where I would start. Tranny fluid every 30k but I wait until 60k on mine.

Bilsteins will be installed soon, they're saved in the cart on Amazon just waiting until I will have time to install them. I'm thinking I'll go ahead and do a suspension refresh while in at it and change the serpentine belt. manifolds look good, no weird noises. The truck stops fine, but i think there may be an issue with the brakes, it had new pads installed recently but they do make a slight judder so I guess that will need to be addressed soon. The speakers suck, so infinity's are on the way. Head unit will also be replaced here soon, I've been spoiled with a back up camera in my other trucks so that's another priority lol
