Nissan Extended Warranty Question

Hello,
I’m new to the forum and this is my first post.

I’m sure numerous people have posted questions comparing the new Titan and the new Tundra. After looking at both I like the Titan better. Unfortunately the reviews I’ve read state that the Tundra is a better truck and some reviews even rank the Chevy Silverado above the new Titan. I don’t base my purchasing decisions solely on reviews. I want to know what actual owners have to say and that’s how I stumbled across this forum. I plan on purchasing a new truck in the next few days.

I have a few questions regarding the Nissan Titan extended warranty. Has anyone here purchased it? Do you think it is worth the money? What is a fair price for an extended warranty? I certainly wouldn’t pay the price that the finance manager puts in front of me. I’m curious what others are paying for factory warranties. I don’t want a warranty from a third-party. I’d only purchase an extended warranty through Nissan.

This forum has a lot of useful information and has a lot of friendly members. I look forward to making more posts and spending a lot of time here. :)

84 mos 100k golf preferred with 50 deductible is 1700 dealer cost. Is it worth it? I dont think it is but some do. Any way that close to dealer cost and you can taken it from there.
I got the 7 year/70k gold warranty for $720 (an extra $12/month). The dealers have a lot of flexibility (i.e., can charge you what they want) for the extended warranty. Just tell them what you are willing to pay for a warranty and see what they can do. I would not pay more than $1000 for any warranty including the 7 year/100k one. Keep in mind that if one major fix is required, then the warranty will pay for itself for that one fix.

I think the dealer cost listed above ($1700) was quite a bit inflated by the dealer. Technically, there is no cost to the dealer for the warranty (it is a service contract and not a part and the dealer's are reimbursed by Nissan for the parts and an alotted amount of labor time). Oh, the paint treatment is also free to the dealer - you pay for the service contract as well. I got my dealer to throw in the paint treatment by agreeing to finance through one of their preferred banks. Rate was the same as my bank, so I really didn't care.

I ended up buying it just for the security of it. Just like car insurance, you have it but hope you don't need it. I plan I keeping this truck for a while and drive 20K-30K miles a year and this will give me around 5 years worth of worry free driving.

Go read the about face from Consumers Report on the Tundra. Not everything they said was a fact.

I got the 7/100K with free oil changes and tire rotation for 5/75K. I don't remember how much I paid, but I plan on keeping this truck atleast 7 years so it was well worth it.
I got the gold 7yr/70k warranty for 1300 i think, original price was 2500, and i said no, no no no no until she said 1300 and just said fine.
I got the Nissan cost sheet that comes from the factory This is for all gold preferred with 50 deductable if you want to know the price on something else just pm me

60 mos 75,000 $ 817
60 mos 100,000 $ 1071
72 mos 75,000 $980
72 mos 100,00 $ 1392
84 mos 70,000 $1125
84 100,000 $1677

You can save some money and just get the Gold plan w/0 preferred and save about 100 bucks off each plan. The Preferred only gives you rental car. This price sheet came from Nissan and is 25.00 under dealer cost. One more Benefit of VPP baby.

I hope this keeps folks from getting ripped off.

So my dealer gave me a sweet deal for the 84 mos/70k for $720. They did say they were giving me a rebate on it for buying another nissan from them. Or maybe they just took my money and gave me nothing.

Now I am going to have to read the paperwork I signed and didn't read. I hate when I have to do that.
can you buy the warranty after you pick up the truck or does it have to be the day you sign?
You can buy a warranty anytime form original purchase date till the 3yr 36k. It might be slightly more though I'm not sure.

Bay states if you got the gold preferred for that, than you got a steal of a deal. Are you sure it's a Nissan gold one and not one of the other ones? The delaer might have made a mistake and sold you the Altima one. You might of screwed the delaer on that one.:futwice: Check your paper work, I bet they sold you the bronze coverage. If not good on you. The prices are from 2007.
