No audio from door speakers only subs

Just yesterday I went to the store when I got back in the truck I had no audio. the head unit is on and works fine and the subs work as the bass of whatever is playing in the radio is hitting. But no audio from the door speakers. The truck came with an in dash milion brand and I think boss aftermarket door speakers and tweeters on the dash. when I came home with it I already knew it was a piece of crap. It's slow and bad graphics the cd/dvd doesn't work nor the iPod connection no gps only radio stations Bluetooth and sd card, even the rear camera has to be turned on manually through the head unit lol takes forever to read the sd card but it did its job so I was just going to wait till it crapped out which I think it did because of the problem I'm having. Took it to a stereo shop and they said it was the head unit because my subs are still playing, but My subs are hooked up to the head unit via rca's and remote wire so im not sure Im not big on radio electronics more mechanical stuff so not sure how to tackle this one. I've already taken the stereo out and checked for any ripped cut wires or loose connections and everything is good. And it isn't a hack job they used a harness from what I can see.

Yes, you can use a backup camera as you want. First, purchase a license plate mounting unit, you can mount it just above the rear plate (I used two mending plates as extenders such that the camera is not directly on the plate).

Get into the wiring at the taillight and find the wire that supplies 12 volts to the backup lights. Tap into that wire with a signal wire to run to the HU (20 or 22 guage wire is sufficently large) and connect to the HU camera sense wire. You will also need to extend the red and black wire and the video cable from the camera to the rear of the HU. Connect the black wire to ground, the red wire to a switched source of 12 volts (has voltage when the switch key is ON or AUX) and connect the video cable to the camera in on the HU. Set the HU to turn on the camera for positive 12 volts on the sense lead.

When the transmission is switched to reverse the HU will display the camera signal. When the transmission is in a forward gear the HU can be manually set to show the rearview camera signal.

On my Titan there is a factory gromet on the rear cabin (drivers side) wall. I penetrated the center of the gromet and routed the rear camera wiring through that hole. The hole is between the cabin and the bed, looking from underneath is probably the easiest way to see if one is there on your model year.

I think I understood you pretty well but the camera I ordered seems like it came with more power wires ?? The one on the right I know powers the camera so I tapped that red to the reverse light and ground it back there too? What color wire is the reverse signal for the light? And I know the yellow rca goes to the the back of the head unit, but both ends of the rca's connectors have red power wires sticking out of them? That's where I'm having a brain fart I know it has to be simple but this is the first time I ever wire up and rev camera and the instructions are pointless.

From the picture you have one 'wire' from the camera that splits into two connectors, red and yellow. The red connector mates to the black cable which contains two wires, red and black. That black is ground and the red wire needs 12 volts to power the camera.

The yellow connector mates with the video cable (RCA connectors on each end) which has a red wire extending from the video cable connector at each end. I would verify with a continuity check (VOM, volt-ohm-meter) that the red wire is continuous end-to-end and is not connected to the shield or the center pin of the RCA connector. If the red wire is continuous and is not connected to the video cable then it can be used to provide the reverse sensing voltage to the HU.

For this scenario connect the black wire from the camera power cable to ground and the two red wires to the backup light power lead. Connect the red wire at the HU end of the video cable to the HU reverse sense wire. To find the power wire at the backup light you need to expose the wiring that goes to the light socket and using a voltmeter (VOM) determine which wire has 12 volts when the transmission is in reverse.

Be advised, with this wiring configuration the camera will only be on when the transmission is in reverse resulting in video being displayed on the HU only when in Reverse gear. Should you desire to display the video while in a forward gear an additional wire from the camera to the HU will be required and the wiring arrangement changed slightly. I can provide instructions on how to do that if you want.

Yeah dude if you can instruct me on how to do it like that, I would like to have the option of it coming on automatically when I go in reverse and turn it on when i please too.

So the black ground I ground out at the back bumper, the red wire I tap into the reverse light? Then the yellow rca to my HU? And the red wire sticking out of the same wire sheath I tap into my power wire for my HU? Does that sound correct? But what about the other wire on the other end of the rca closest to the camera? Tap that together with the reverse? (my voltmeter actually stopped working awhile back is there a wire diagram I can go by or someone know which wire is what? Sorry if I sound like a noob but I've never done a back up camera l, so Thanks for the help reeakes! Appreciate it!
The red wires poking out of the yellow connectors I am going to pretend they are not there - just ignore them.

Go to an auto store or electronics store that sells wire and buy two 25 foot spools of 22 guage, stranded wire. One should be red, the other blue.

Connect the new red wire to the red wire from the camera power cable, route into the cab and connect that end to the switched power source for the HU.

Find the power source for the backup light and connect one end of the blue cable to that wire. Route into the cab and connect that end of the blue wire to the 'reverse sense' wire from the HU.

Route the video cable (yellow connector) into the cab and connect to the backup camera input on the HU.

Connect the black wire from the camera power cable to chassis ground. I would solder a length of heavier guage wire to the camera power cable black wire as that wire is a very small guage and could easily break if it gets any stress or movement.

With this wiring scheme the HU will display the camera video when the transmission is in reverse automatically. At other times you can manually select the camera video from the HU.

An item you may not have considered is a parking brake bypass (google and you will get several hits).

That's a nice HU by the way, it has the same user interface as the NEC5000 I installed for a friend. I have the AVH-3600 installed in my Titan - it works well.

Thanks reeakes seems pretty straight foward. Yeah I had ordered one already I was just going to wait to install it when I did the camera. my only dilema is I don't have a volt meter. I keep reading about a green/white wire that's the reverse wire inside the cab by the drivers feet. Does this apply to all years ? I have an 07 that way I don't have to route a cable all the way to the tail light. But if I have to, the green/white cable I should find in the tail light right?
Yes, I have read that there is a green/white wire in the cab that is part of the wiring to the bu light. However, I have never looked for that wire so do not have first hand knowledge. Obviously, the wiring must exist somewhere in the cab as it goes from the engine compartment to the rear of the truck. In any event it would be necessary to test to make sure one had the right wire (hence a VOM - cheap one many places for $10).

The bu light wiring goes through several connectors on its way to the light, do not expect the wire color to be consistent through a connector - on one side it could be green/white, on the other red/blue (or whatever). A wiring diagram for your model year would indicate the wire color and its routing. Baring that, go with the green/white but test to make sure it is the correct wire. On my 2013 Titan the bu light sense wire is present at the HU location and there is a cable harness that allows one to use the OEM camera with an aftermarket HU, unfortunately that does not apply for your 07.

Thanks for all the help reeakes. I got it done. On my 07 it's the red and blue wire for the reverse signal. I flushed mounted the camera by the tailgate handle to make it look as oem as possible. Broke the bottoms clips of the large plastic piece dammit. Not that noticeable but doesn't sit as close as it did. I also had to get a new dash kit but the color doesn't really match doesn't look to bad I guess, he showed me and all the kits are that color. And the dash piece it's doesn't sit as flush on the right side anybody encounter this problem and found a way to make it sit flush ? Its a metra dash kit.

The reason the dash bezel doesn't fit flush is that the rear of the HU is up against the metal bar running across the dash behind the HU. (It could be some of the cables in the way also). Try positioning the HU more forward into the bezel opening. From the picture the HU has about 1/4 inch that it could come forward thru the opening.

Glad you got everything functioning.

Think so? I think the "filler" bracket part of the kit that goes infront to fill the gap won't fit if pull foward more I think. Guess I'll try it that may be it though didn't think of that.
Use the factory bezel and bracket..it will match then and fit properly. I only had to use a kit on one that had an OEM non 6disc
If I remember correctly, on my 06 I modified the trim piece a bit with a dremel tool and and slid it on from the front to fill the gap around the HU. In any event the HU needs to slide forward if you want the bezel to fit flush.

On my 2013 the HU is mounted higher such that the dash brace is not a factor.

Actually even the factory bezel bulges and doesn't sit flush too. I think reeakes might be right and I might have to pull it foward more a little. Cause the it would've been a waste buying the whole dash kit and not just the mounting brackets :ftard:
I don't know what going on with yours. But the only time I have needed the kit is when I was changing one this a 6disc changer. If the bezel has had a double din hole I just use the Oem bezel and brackets and it fits perfectly.
