lol that'd be awesome.. but definatly not street legal i wouldnt imagine.. it has no smog stuff on it whatsoever..Yellomantis said:Just give Menards Engine Development a call. They can set you up with a 715kp/500 ft lb crate engine for a cool $65 grand....
It's just a long block. I'm sure you could bolt on everything associated with SMOG. It would at least pass the visual inspection, as long as they don't care about the dry sump oiling system. The sniffer on the other hand, I'd be surprised if it passed, but you never know.Toomnymods said:lol that'd be awesome.. but definatly not street legal i wouldnt imagine.. it has no smog stuff on it whatsoever..
tks Toomnymods, what about the trannyToomnymods said:my advice to ya is to take it slow and easy.. rome of course wasnt built in a day and something to this extent needs to be done slowly so the trucks ecu can adjust between mods.. i'd start with the foundation base mods first.. stuff like cams, exhaust, CAI, headers and high flow cats, get tuned for that, then you can work on traction issues which you will definatly have by this point, so add in the detroit tru trac lsd, traction bars, some 16" slicks, then slap on the power adder like nitrous, turbo, or s/c to get that last little bit of power outta the stock motor.. getting into the mid 13's for a crew cab will definatly be a adventure though, it'll take atleast 450 rwhp and 500+ tq.. so cams and nitrous, turbo, or sc will definatly be needed
and i thought the s/c was supposed to give me @ 425-450 rwhp w/headers!!Toomnymods said:my advice to ya is to take it slow and easy.. rome of course wasnt built in a day and something to this extent needs to be done slowly so the trucks ecu can adjust between mods.. i'd start with the foundation base mods first.. stuff like cams, exhaust, CAI, headers and high flow cats, get tuned for that, then you can work on traction issues which you will definatly have by this point, so add in the detroit tru trac lsd, traction bars, some 16" slicks, then slap on the power adder like nitrous, turbo, or s/c to get that last little bit of power outta the stock motor.. getting into the mid 13's for a crew cab will definatly be a adventure though, it'll take atleast 450 rwhp and 500+ tq.. so cams and nitrous, turbo, or sc will definatly be needed
i would think high 13's for one reason mainly.. they dont address the wot issue off the line, yea it preserves the transmission with that much continous hp/tq but imo you will lose over 1/2 second alone just by not coming off the line full throttle, with a s/c you will definatly need tru trac and traction bars and 16" slicks thiers really no way around it.. look up my "let the good times roll" thread it has the slicks and 16" rims i bought just to use at the track..PAPARYNO said:and i thought the s/c was supposed to give me @ 425-450 rwhp w/headers!!
shouldn't that put it close
Do not install those cams in your with the Stillen s/c. Those cams are meant for N/A trucks. Even if they were made for boosted trucks, you cannot tune for them with the Stillen piggyback...PAPARYNO said:and i thought the s/c was supposed to give me @ 425-450 rwhp w/headers!!

Talk with Mike or Anthony @ IPT. Tell them Chad from CT told you to call.PAPARYNO said:tks Toomnymods, what about the tranny
kyle told me that they are working on the cam tune now. He said not to return the cams cause there is a big demand for them and they are gonna get the tune worked out for it.QShip said:Do not install those cams in your with the Stillen s/c. Whoa! I've been told that we need cams that were designed for motors with boost. Something about overlap.
Great!!!.. just what i wanted to hear.. well, i believe i'm gonna add the s/c and hearers, wait on the cam tune, THEN in stall them.. uprev will be for top end limiter onlyToomnymods said:these cams do have minimal overlap these are the boost cams i already asked jim wolf and he said they designed these for boosted engines..
really??? jared said it would work w/ the s/c.. if not then i don't need uprev at all.... i guess??Toomnymods said:only chance you will have at removing the top end limiter is to have uprev hack the piggy back.. the piggyback overrides everything in the ecu..
