So recently, my 08 xe has been giving me starting problems. Occasionally i'll turn the key and nothing will happen, then the other day, i turn key and it clicks like battery is low, then turns over. Well now, i put a new starter in because i could hear the starter not engaging. Still nothing. Battery terminals are clean, ones new, and battery was charged on aux battery charger all night. My mind is blown and i have no idea where to go from here

That doesn't sound like an IPDM issue, but maybe the ignition switch?

I did have one corroded positive cable, and we took the sheath off and it was filled with water. So now im starting to think it's a battery cable problem

Problem solved. Ended up needing a battery cable (+) replacement. Also, had battery tested and it failed so replaced that too. Took off old + from battery that goes to starter (thick wire (black with red stripe) that goes behind the manifold) and ran new one to starter. But be aware that you DO have to remove the intake manifold which is a PITA. Starter is under intake manifold between the top of the block.
