I always thought changing out the cabin filters was a huge job involving removing a lot of pieces from the dash, which I couldn't do cause I'm sure mine would just fall apart due to dry rot. So I never did it. Then I saw a thread on how jokingly easy it was. Now I understand the reason for my titan's lack of air flow. I'm sure it's been about 12 years since these bad boys have been changed Grille Metal

I just checked mine as well, last week, and they werent as bad as that. I ended up just removing them, and not reinstalling a filter, you get much better air flow, but then some dirt might come through your vents.

Yeah I had turned it on a minute without any and it was like a hurricane compared to what it used to be. I installed some new ones and it's still so much better

Could you please point me in the direction of that thread on how to easily change these?

Open your glovebox, and pull it completely out (push the two sides of the glovebox together to set it off the track), then the housing for the filter is in the upper right hand corner, it has either an 8mm or 10mm bolt holding it closed. Undo the bolt and a door will open, pull the filter out, reinstall, and put all back together.

Back in 2005 I thought these filters were snake oil. I removed mine to be quit surprised how dirty it was. I am now a believer!

I saw this thread, made me think. When was the last time i changed mine?

Pulled a sizable chunk of "lint"? out too. Air flows much better now!
Looks like you got enough there to knit yourself a small sweater.

I throw a new car scent tree in with mine when I change em. Smells great and dont have to see the classic tree from the rear view, or the other creative places we hang em.

Not a bad idea. When I do mine, I think I'll load it up with some black ice! Maybe toss a pack in there and just poke some holes in the plastic.

Typically I use those little vent clip ons, but with as much gear/sweaty clothes and whatnot as I carry around (with cloth seats no less) a bit extra oompf with the fragrance certainly couldn't hurt.

Are these filters available at parts stores or only from OEM?
