saw the mythbusters about the mesh tailgate replacement being the best option for fuel economy so i started googling around and found a site that suggests a tonneau cover is a better way to improve mpg and that a mesh gate is actually worse than the standard gate. (i'd post the link but i'm not allowed yet).
curious as to other folks experience with the tonneau covers. better? same? worse?
on mythbusters they found the tonneau to be of little or no advantage, but they were using a fiberglass cover vs. a leather (fabric) one... so i'm guessing the extra weight only hindered things.
i know the best way to increase mpg is to keep the foot out of the pedal... but just wondering about the tonneau covers and what, if any, help they offer?
