Ok I have a noise that's driving me crazy. It's a clanking rubbing
noise like something is loose. I can also feel it through the floor boards.Ruled out drive shaft u joints, front and rear bearings, exhaust. You hear it at low speeds only when truck is moving.
It does not have a rhythm to it and I think you can hear and feel at faster speeds but trucks normal driving noise masks it. 2008 Titan 4dr 2 wheel drive. 136,000 miles

Make sure the front sway bar bolts are tight.

Your rear disc brakes have a drum parking brake inside "the hat" of the rotor. Those are the shoes to which Mac is referring. Wisdom says check them.

Beyond that, you could have noise coming from front suspension, or from a seat belt buckle hitting the cab wall, or from your Trans mount, or from your power steering, or any number of places. But first, check the parking brake.

Front hubs maybe?

. I've done a front brake job and replaced hubs. This noise is killing me. Had three people ride with me. Two of which are mechanics. None have figured it out. Mechanics told me not to worry because not in drivetrain. But I still wonder because you only hear in motion. Wished I could record the sound but can't hear on recording.

Update..... still have not localized noise. But... I noticed when I crank the wheel side to side at a stop, at the end of complete turn I here the noise. It's like a metal on metal grind. Any thoughts??

Well I finally isolated noise. It is coming from front right shock I think where spring rests on bottom plate. Shocks were replaced 1 yr ago. Guessing I should take off, compress spring and see what's up.

thanks for updating. I hate when Im searching a thread and have the same problem and come to find out the OP never came back to update with the answer. I don't have this problem but hopefully it will help some one sooner or later.

You're welcome! First thing I did after I found problem.
I did replace shocks with Bilstein 5100's a bout 1 1/2 yrs ago. I have them set on the middle setting so as to mostly level out truck. I'm going to take apart soon and see if I can fix that grinding. I think it's the spring against bottom plate causing noise. We will see. If anyone had same experience. Would be nice to hear about it.
