I work out of my truck, so not everyone may know what I'm talking about, but here goes:

About 2-3 minutes after shutdown ( I'm often still in the truck doing paperwork) it sounds like the HVAC system closes/adjusts something, then shortly after, it sounds like the pedals adjust themselves.

Can anyone explain what's happening? Some kind of system shutdown? Normal?

The HVAC noise you hear is what you think.......it's closing the vents to keep hot/cold air out. If you sit in your truck with your ignition switch to "on" without the vehicle running you can play with the HVAC controls and verify the noise. You just cant hear it from the all the motor and road noise usually.

The pedal deal is because our trucks operate on a drive-by-wire system, so it's all electronically controlled. Our trucks perform weird little diagnostic checks while parked shortly after shut off. You will see the guages do crazy stuff from time to time as well. Nothing wrong......just doing it's job.
