Hi everyone! Names Giovanni and live in Normal Illinois. I finally purchased a 2005 Nissan Titan XE from a crashed car auction in Minnesota. Ended up getting the truck for fairly cheap and needs about another 2 grand to get it in its tip top shape again. Truck was in a minor front end/rear end collision which unfortunatly deployed the airbags :crying:. There is quite a laundry list of things that the truck needs but hopefully with some help from you fellow members, I think I can save this truck! I will be updating this thread with pics of progress and how the truck is holding up. I drove it last night from Minnesota to Illinois and lets just say I am in love already!

With that being said, I have a few questions. Can I get to the pass. side airbag without having to remove the dash? Also is the airbag cover replaceable or do I need a whole new dash? I'll have a few more questions later on but those that is the only question I have now off the top of my head. Sounds like a great project!! I think you will have to remove the dash for the passs. side airbag.

It defently will be a great little project! No frame damage done to the truck at all so its just a matter of getting a bumper grille headlights etc. But thanks for the help! I really didn't want to take the whole dash out though. I hope its not that hard to remove!

Lots on my to do list for this truck. So far this is what I need

headlights
front bumper
grille
pass. fender
possibly hood
drivers and pass. airbags
seatbelts
Possibly a new bed, depending if the one on it is fixable
rear bumper
tail gate

I have found basically all the parts now it's just a matter of finding the money for them! :bangit:

doesnt look too bad....i am a little worried about the rear though. the bed seems to be twisted a little, along with a for sure right bedside replacement. looks like an awesome project though. everything else looks pretty minor and simple. good luck

Quick question guys, would headlights, hood, tailgate and front fender from an 08 work on my 05?

yes they should all fit. i know the headlights are the same dimensions but never compared the mounting between the years. i would assume they are the same though. only thing about the tailgate you might have to watch out for is the dampen assist....im not sure what parts it consists of or if it even comes with the tailgate. nvr taken the tailgate off but i know many others have.

Another question guys! I was looking through the RochAuto parts catalog and I see that they have BT mirrors for 115 dollars each, are those OEM mirrrors?

OEM Style, but not genuine Nissan if that is what your asking.

Oh ok sweet! Has anyone ever bought their BT mirrors? I have the choice of getting OEM nissan BT mirrors for 300 or those for the 230 plus shipping. Is it a no brainer to get the OEM Nissan?

Parts for the truck are coming along very good! Should be all done by then end of this month if everything goes as planned! I'm pumped!!! But with school being done, I had nothing to do all day today except read a ton of info on here and the Mod bug is going to be biting me VERY soon! I have somewhat a list of what I want to buy and your input would be appreciated!

1st CAI I am wanting something thats fairly loud. I was either thinking Injen or Big banks?
2nd Detroit tru trac I have read this is a must for no more one wheel wonders!
3rd exhaust this is where I am completly lost because of so many different routes I can take and so many mixed reviews. I just want something that is deep and not raspy at all.
4th 2007+ intake manifold
5th something to tune with.
6th 90mm throttle body w/ spacer?

what other mods do you guys reccomend? Thanks in advanced for the help guys!

Looks like a nice project! For the exhaust do you want a muffler swap or a catback? If your doing a muff swap, go with the borla pro-xs muffler. Great deep, non raspy sound. If you want a full catback, get the JBA

Your truck would be a perfect set up for a prerunner. You could ditch the bed and all the front sheet metal.

Well I am looking to gain more HP so I think I would do full catback. What headers do you guys reccommend?

And Smiller why don't I make it even easier and we swap trucks and I'll have a perfectly fixed truck and you have yourself practically a prerunner? =D

Looks like a good project. Rebuilding one yourself definitely gets you "attached" to it. It's now your baby. LOL. Have fun with it.


BTW - I figured out a while back, if you copy/paste the "IMG code" link from photobucket it will display your photos instead of clickable links. You can even check mark the pics you want to copy and select "generate link codes" at the bottom and it will popup a window with all the links together. I have a feeling you'll be posting a lot of update pictures and this may save you some time.

Quick question. I was looking to see which was the best set of headers and I basically have it narrowed down to DT and stillen. I know Nismo is basically top of the line but finding a set of them is very hard so either DT or Stillen will do. Has anyone ever done a back to back dyno with the DT headers then the Stillen headers to see which is better?
