9656 Views 95 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  rrumaner
When: Saturday, October 6th at 10am
Where: Elk Grove Park

Please RSVP in this thread.

We are gonna close the 2007 picnic season with great food, great trucks and probably a few nice door prizes. Dawgs77 has agreed to provide data logging and 2* timing advance service for anyone if he can make it. I'll make sure the food is worth the trip. I'm hoping Skromfols can bring some of the amazing salsa I've heard about. Bring your own chairs and beverages. Please respond if you're interested so I can get a proper head count for food. Families are welcome, if enough families RSVP I'll set up some games for the kids.

Sponsors feel free to send me a PM if interested in contributing to this event.

I'm up for it!

It'll just be me.
I wouldn't miss it, and yes, I'll bring my wifes famous home made Salsa. Glad to see this starting to come together. Are you checking previous picnic posts and PMing the participants? Some don't check this site as often as others.

Stan
Elk Grove Nissan has officially come on board as our title sponsor so food and door prizes are definitely a go! It looks like we're off to a great start. Several people have confirmed and we're just getting started. I'll be listing everyone that has confirmed onto my original post in a couple of days. Thanks to everyone that has already shown support.
Good show Sactitan. Getting a sponsor is always a great start. Now, with my wifes Salsa, Dawgs doing the 2 degree advance, food and attendance prizes, what in the world would keep anyone from attending?? This Titan group is the greatest. Oops, one sad note. 37L1 won't be here. But he will in spirit, won't you Lon !!
Pencil me in, it's still a ways away but calender looks clear.
Wish I could make it but I will be back living in Chicago by then. Too bad because I was looking forward to some of that salsa.

You betcha.

Tell Dawgs (aka Rossi) to get his butt to that picnic. No maybes allowed.

He should hang out here more now anyway so I can mess with him.

I want to know when he's getting the new JW cams.
this time i should be able to come. School is back in but that weekend appears to be open. Just me for now. I might bring a roommate or two but i'm not sure.
Good to see we are getting another one of these in before the winter season goes into full swing.
Hey Sac Titan

Thanks for the PM notice.

I know I was supposed to set up the next BBQ-Picnic, but schedules and health issues have prevented me doing much in 2007. My plan is to have a "meet" in Apr/May of 2008.

That said, I can't make the 6 October event. I got a fairly big car show to attend in Long Beach, CA. The 3rd Annual Japanese Classic Car Show on 6 October being held near the Queen Mary.

Sac Titan mentioned a map. Here's my little contribution to this event. Use it if you can.

BTW .. I used the map as a flyer last year, giving it to all the Armadas/Titans that I came across.

Ohh .. and I've mentioned this event at ClubArmada ..

Damn,
Broke the glass on my monitor trying to kill that roach that always shows up when 37L1 posts anything. Do you have so many roaches back there that you have to include them with your posts Lon ??
Lon, any chance we can make this a sticky so I can keep track of RSVPs and volunteers. Thanks.

Sorry I never attended earlier events. You're like a celebrity around here.

That itty-bitty thing ain't no southern roach. Out here they are bigger than VW's.
Thanks for the map inqui-Z-tor and thanks to Lon for the sticky.
Actually the story is passed down from father to son about 37L1. I could go into a long story about how he braved the traffic and searing temperatures from the bay area to attend our picnics, and how he almost held his own with rassling with Dawgs oldest son, but those are beside the point. What 37L1 is really known for is taking the mask off the Lone Ranger.

Yep, it was years ago, and the Lone Ranger was not having a good day, because he found out earlier in the day that Silver wasn't really a stallion, but a mare, and she was pregnant. Then when he was surrounded by armed gunmen and vastly outnumbered he turned to his trusty companion and said "Well at least we have a fighting chance Tonto", whereupon Tonto replied "What you mean we Kemosabbi"?, and slipped away. Then after a terrific gunfight lasting hours and hours, the Lone Ranger finally took time to lay down and try to get some rest, whereupon 37L1 snuck up behind a tree and slowly slipped closer and closer until he suddenly reached out and snatched off the Lone Rangers mask!!

Rumor has it that the Lone Ranger was really Dawgs, but 37L1 would never share his secret, even after three Brats, lots of Salsa and 3 or 4 Bud Lights.

So, that's the real story behind 37L1. Oh ya, and he has a nice truck too.

Count me as a maybe. I started a new job and I'm currently in Israel about to start my 5th and final week of training. I have a million things to do when I get home and the new job will require the occasional Saturday.

BTW, the only full size trucks I see here are F-350s and GMC 3500s. I miss home, my Titan and mostly my wife IYKWIM. :bouncy:
Sounds good loosenut, I'll put you down for a maybe. Let's keep this thing going, I'd love to see as many folks attend as possible. I've contacted a few site sponsors and I'd guess they wanna see a high turnout in exchange for their support so they're holding back for a bit. Elk Grove Nissan was the only sponsor to jump right in with no questions asked. Kudos to them. I'll have a flier out by next week to help boost attendance. It'll be posted here for anyone that would like to pass them out.

P.S. Where's Dawgs? I figured with the Bud Light and salsa he'd be chomping at the bit.

Well Dawgs might be spending his time getting ready to head back to Sacrameno Raceway, or maybe he lost a stoplight contest to a Hemi, or a Ford F-150 towing a camping tailor. Come on Dawgs, speak up. Remember, this picnic will have salsa and Bud Light !!
