Good Evening,

So, i just took my titan out of storage. It has only been just over a year. My issue that i am having is that I am unable to refuel the truck at full speed. I have to fill about .5 gal to 1gal at a time. It will get there, but 21gal + takes quite some time. There is nothing clogging the spout. Please, help!

It?s a known problem a recall was just recently mailed out for the evap canister the likely issue. I seem to occasionally have the issue myself, only when I?m really low on fuel and when I need my truck and can?t take it to the dealer. Mine only seems to last for a couple gallons then I can hammer down.

Nice! so this issue is recent and my 2005 Titan can still get serviced??? SAWEET!!!!
Yeah, the other way of looking at it is that the problem dates back a dozen years and is still not resolved in new vehicles.

From the article linked above:
"Nissan says many 2003-2017 models can develop clogs in the evaporative (EVAP) emission vapor vent tubes located between the fuel tanks and vapor canisters, and the software in the cars may not be able to accurately pinpoint the problem."

That would be SOP for Nissan. Have a problem? Let the after-market sort it out. The few warranty claims and bad reputation you get cannot be as costly as re-designing the product, can it?

Frontier / X-terra / Pathfinder fuel level sending units.
Sentra ignition coils.
Fronter / X-terra auto transmission cooling failures (radiator internal failure).
GT-R transmissions.
370Z clutch slave cylinders.

There's probably more, but the above are all real issues that Nissan simply ignored.

So, is the topic on hand related to the truck whistling at me when I fuel it up? Is that indicative of a problem, or normal for a 2017 Titan?

I actually just had the pump click off on my 05 last night for the first time. . looking at the recall I got in the mail as I type and it states the emissions warranty coverage for this evaporative emission vapor vent tube has been enhanced to 15 years or 150,000 miles, (Whichever occurs first). So if you're under that mileage or time frame it'll be covered under warranty.

Well, that sucks because I?m over 150,000. Is there a part number? I?m still taking it to the dealer to see if they can somehow cover. But, it?s the dealership.

Yay... my 08, has been doing this off and on for years when extremely empty... but usually after I get 1 to 2 gallons in I can fuel at full speed. And yes... I have 155, 000 miles.

Hmm. The letter I rcd was quite clear that this is not a recall....it's not free. Are there two letters out there?
I should have used the word warranty rather than recall. . it doesnt state that its a recall but it does state that the repair would be covered under the emissions warranty coverage so long as it is the vent tube and if you previously paid to have evaporative emissions vapor vent tube replaced you may be eligible for reimbursement.
