I'd like to quickly and cheaply upgrade my fog lamp light output without changing the stock housing. I've reviewed the wiring diagram from the service manual and from what I can tell the fog lamps are on a dedicated 20 amp fused circuit, meaning they can handle up to 240 total watts of lighting (120watts per bulb). I've still got my stock GE899 bulbs, which according to online research are 37.5watts. I believe all 899, 893, and 881 bulbs have the same physical connectors (PG13 or P13 style, something like that?) and case, the only difference being how powerful they are, unfortunately 38 watts seems to be the highest official rating I can find anywhere.

Has anyone tried any Xenon bulbs, found some 55, 75, or even higher wattage 899 bulbs, or anything else similar?

Thanks-

Stay with 35w. Anything higher and you run the risk of MELTING your fog lamp housing.
