OEM tire jack too short!

Okay, well at least I didn't think about it until I ran over something in the middle of nowhere Mississippi and had a punctured tire. Come to find out the OEM sissor jack will not lift the truck high enough off the ground to change the 18" tires.

So I was wondering if I should just cut up some piece of 2x8 to carry with me to help raise the jack the next time it happens or go ahead and carry a floor jack with me?

Check your owners manual, you didn't put the jack in the right place( I have done this also). Also assuming you have factory tires.
I feel like this is such a stupid thread but.........

According to the owners manual the jack should be placed in a spot under the front door to remove the front tires. Maybe I'm missing something here.

Yep, they are OEM tires.
i have used my jack to remove front and back tire....:dunno:
I have a 16" long 4x4 and a 10" long 8x8 in the bed of my truck.
Stock everything, my jack works fine
$10 said you tried to pick it up from the pinch weld on the body, NOT the frame.

Yep, something isn't right. I think there is an arrow stamped on the frame where the jack is suppose to lift.
After rexamining the situation, well, duh. I guess I was so pissed off about having a flat tire and having to change it in business clothes I did not see the correct spot.

Thanks everyone.

Rodney wins the 10 bucks...............
Maybe change your user name to D'Oh! ??? :hat:
