I have a question......Is it worth it?

I want to install new tires when I buy the truck....I have my eye on these BFGoodrich 285's MuddTerrain...So my question....Should I opt out of the offroad package....Can I get a skid plate installed? I was really just considering the package for the looks....I will not be tearing this truck throught mudpit like my last truck....Just a little surf fishin and such.....What are your thoughts? What should I do??

I would be carefull about putting Mud-terrains on if you arent going to use them and enjoy the traction they give you. I have a set of 33X12.50's on my jeep and I love them for off road, but they drive me nuts on the road. They tend to wear fast and get chopped up. I also have to constantly balance them. Although it could have something to do with how the Jeep is treated off road :boxing:
I have thought about modifying the appearance of my truck but I really dont want to risk the ride quality. It rides great!
To each his own though.
