Has anyone switched from synthetic oil to regular oil? My 04 Titan has 270000, serviced every 5000 since I've driven it. Thinking about switching to regular oil to prolong the motor (recently found metallic specks in oil) any input?

Switching to conventional from synthetic at 270k isn't likely to have any effect on longevity, I'd think. Perhaps switching from 5w30 to 10w30 synthetic would help, but even that is almost a wash in a motor with 250k+, I suspect.

Switching from synthetic to conventional oil is counterproductive. It won't help the engine. Synthetic is better, it will protect and prolong the engine better. Why is there specs in the oil? You might have an engine issue.
