Just picked up a 2017 Titan Pro4x in solar yellow. I have had a 2008.5 Titan CC XE 2wd and a 2008 Titan CC Pro4x. LOVED the Pro4x but convinced myself to get a 370z for a little while just for the heck of it. Came back around to needing a truck in 2015 and the new Titan wasn't out yet and the big rebates on Titans seemed to be gone. Couldn't find a dealer to give me a good price on a 2015 Titan, so I ended up getting a slightly used 2015 Tundra SR5 Crewmax TRD 4x4 (it was gray and I didn't want gray...but the sales manager kept throwing lower and lower prices out until I couldn't turn it down). The Tundra was a great truck, but I still would have rather had the Pro4x I used to own (feels like a sports car compared to the boat-like Tundra), so I checked in with a new Nissan dealer close to my house last week to see what they could do on a new solar yellow Pro4x. They found the truck, gave me a great price, offered me A LOT for the Tundra (almost what I paid for it), and I ended up walking out with what worked out to an even swap. Thank you high Toyota resale values and thank you Toyota sales manager that really wanted me to buy that Tundra. Couldn't be happier to be back in a Titan.

Congrats on the new T. Regardless if you like them or not, Toyota cannot be beat for their resale value.

I find that odd, because around here anyways, used Tundra's depreciate almost as bad as the Titans. Considering I typically buy slightly used vehicles, it works out in my favor, but it wouldn't have cost me much more to get a Tundra than my Titan. Test drove a Tundra and it felt like a freaking gigantic boat compared to the Titan so it was an easy choice for me.

For starters, Toyota does not offer significant discounts like the big three and Nissan for that matter, offering $10k+ off. That alone helps retain resale value. I'm not promoting Toyota (I do own a new 4runner) but it's impressive to see any automaker with six of their models being in the "top ten" best in resale class. #9 Sequoia, #8 Highlander, #6 Tundra, #3 4Runner, #2 Tacoma and #1 FJ Cruiser. My locale, the Tundra used market is ridiculous for price. In many instances it better to purchase new vs used. IMO, the Titan still offer's the best bang for your buck.

You just caught me off guard by the FJ Cruiser being #1. Lol. Surprising.

Yeah, the Toyota resale values are high around here. The dealership is asking $40k for the Tundra I traded in...about $3k more than I paid for it in August 2015. I bought it used with a touch over 10k miles on it and it only had just under 16k miles on it when I traded it. That truck brand new is around $42k-$43k with the options that were on it. The resale market for them is crazy. I just happened to show up at the Toyota dealership a few days after it was traded in and the sales manager kept dropping the price on it until it was so cheap compared to new that I had to check it out (I went there trying to get them to bring a new one in from another dealership). Told him I wanted a TRD dual exhaust, so he put one on there. It was a great truck, but never matched up for me to the '08 Titan Pro4x I used to have. I don't have to have that extra couple inches of interior space in the back, and that's the only thing I lost going back to the Titan. The Titan has better handling, acceleration, steering feel (Tundra was like a car...easy but numb), and I think it just looks better. Either way, the Titan and Tundra are the only full size trucks I would own due to reliability with the "big 3". The Titan just suits me better.
