Yep sucks don't it. Got the Titan finally washed and waxed and BAM!! Two days later mud and snow. Truck looked like two tone Smoke over Granite. . . still hasn't been nice enough to wash the crud off. :crying:

The amazing Utah Salt. Works great on the snowy roads but is a total nightmare afterwards. The area where your truck is parked looks like the rest area just before you exit I-70 for Moab? I have stopped there numerous times if that is the one.

It's still a good looking truck.

That's what my truck looks like today. Road sand/salt mixture speeds up the thaw and boosts buisness at local car washes.

Yep, my black Civic looks about the same right now here in Denver. Neighbors look at me cross-eyed when I'm out washing it in 35 degree weather, but got to get the crud off.

Sure enough, that's the one. Left SLC on Wed. in a snow storm over Soldier Summit went to Montrose and then over to Aspen for work. Messy.... Then back over Soldier Summit in a snowstorm this afternoon.... FUN I tell ya.

Same here - Smoke colored Titan looks like it should be called Ash now.

Ugh... I hate road salt! My Majestic Blue looks terrible but it's been too cold to wash it. It's supposed to warm up this week so maybe it will finally get a long overdue bath.

i have found that the dominator II steps(n-fabs too, im sure) make a great place for lots of snow to accumulate. :(

Yeah, just washed it again yesterday, will probably wash it tomorrow or Monday. I almost could justify going to the car wash every other day. Anyone arguing about the merits of rust protection may want to consider the constant winter salt punishment around these parts.

The white truck is deceiving that from a distance it doesn't look so bad, but close up it looks nasty.

I have had good luck with my waxing regime in fending off surface rust on my vehicles. In the fall I do a double wash, followed by buffing with a 3M 3000 grit highlighting glaze, immediately followed by an application of NuFinish polymer wax, then topping it off with a 3M hand glaze.

It seems that the 3000 grit highlighting glaze softens the paint surface a bit and holds onto the polymer wax much longer than the just polymer by itself. The hand glaze gives an incredibly smooth final finish that last a long time, long enough until my spring detail. The water still beads to this day, which is pretty good considering one to two power washes a week with the harsh chemicals used in the automated washes.

One nice thing about the PNdub is that after I get my Titan nasty with road crap from mountain passes (and the rare Seattle-met area snow), it will usually rain nice and hard, does a pretty decent job getting the nastiest of that stuff off. Still needs a good clean right now though.

This thread motivated me to drive through the car wash today.

Utah is a beautiful state with LOTS of outdoor activities - but the road salt in the winter really does suck!
