Can't believe it, I ordered my new Titan today!

Red Brawn Crew Cab LE
Sand/Steel Leather
Off Road Package
Tow Package
Side Airbags
Splash Guards
Floor Mats

My first modification will be to install Man's Best Friend (45lb. Brittney Spaniel Model) in the back seat and go haul *** around the countryside.

Should be here 2nd week in March!

The dealer gave me a Titan to drive for a day, just to get my "fix". Looks good (and fits) in my garage...can't WAIT for the real thing!

HS

P.S. Hope I made the right decision with the off road package. Those big tires are about $180/ea. on Tirerack...

Half Shovel?

Congratulations on your purchase. I ordered a truck that is almost the same configuration as yours last Friday. I don't doubt what you say about your delivery date but you may want to corner your dealer on this one. From what I have been told by Nissan dealers and on this web site, Nissan dealers only submit their orders once per month for 2-4 days during the first week of the month. February's order window closed last Friday from what I understand and was told. Your dealer may be stretching the truth, if the order window has closed for February, your order will not be placed with the factory until March. I was also told it usually takes 8-10 weeks for delivery, even if your order was submitted this month to the factory the March 5 delivery date seems too good to be true. I must stress that I don't doubt what you say and I am not trying to start trouble, but you may want to press your dealer for more information about your order.

I did press the dealer on the date. They agreed (yep, in writing) to provide me with a loaner vehicle for any time after that date. I assume (hope, pray, etc.) the expense would drive them to get the Titan in on the promised date.

Man, I sure hope so...I can't wait to have it! They gave me a Titan for an overnight test drive, and when I stopped in at a gas station, I felt like a freak show...everyone was asking questions...kinda reminds me of when I first got my Tundra back in late 99.

It was sure hard to turn that Titan in and get back into my Tundra this morning. Don't get me wrong, the Tundra is nice, but it doesn't have that "feel" that the Titan has!

By the way, I paid $500 over invoice. Would those of you who purchased a Titan consider that a decent deal?

Halfshovel,
You made the right decision with the off road. The trucks I test drove before I ordered mine were just the trailer/tow, no off roads. After driving my truck, the ride is so much smoother and tighter with this package, the shocks and tires work really well together. Very little noise from the big tires and very smoooooth ride... you will like. Deepwater (a fellow Mud Duck) :hi:

My dealer just ordered mine last Thursday and won't have a set delivery date until the end of the month but I was quote 8 to 10 weeks as well.

Half Shovel... You did very good on your deal! My deal was the same. It's very hard to get that price in your state. you have to know some one or make a lot of calls and get lucky! It was really hard for me back in Dec. to get that price! It took a lot of calls! :gossip: I hope your wait isnt too long!

Got_titan.... How's she running? Like I said, it was very hard for me to get that deal...it was not easy and took a lot of shrewd negotiating. No regrets!! And neither should you, you have an awesome truck and that's more than most people can say!

the truck runs great i just hate not getting a good deal. my ford was giving problems and i was afraid if i waited any longer i might have to fix the problem i was having. i got the first titan off the truck here and was not able to negotiate any invoiced pricing. but the truck is awsome and its superior to all other , i hope lolol

Half Shovel - Deepwater

Guys,

Also a fellow mudduck here. (After all this time Deepwater, and I didn't know it).

Where did you guys buy at? I shopped all the Minnesota dealers, and Half Shovel got a pretty good deal I think. I found mine in Maplewood. I had a trade in, but paid just a little more, but I got EXACTLY THE TRUCK I WANTED!! (Worth a couple hundred.)

I negotiated $500 over invoice and used a coupon for an additional $100 off for a total of $400 over invoice. This also took lots of shopping around (about ten Nissan dealers in all). I made it known that I was shopping around and that I would not buy until I got close to invoice. I kept getting better offers and took those offers to other Nissan dealers to see what they could do. I saved thousands off of my first few offers. Don't be manipulated into thinking you can't get near invoice. If they want your business they will sell the truck to you for near invoice.

I spent a great deal of time "working" on the dealers as well. I was looking at different trucks for about a month, and I just made it clear to the dealer that:

1. No way was I going to pay much over invoice. Period.
2. That Chevy Silverado is a nice truck. They'll sell it at Invoice or under, plus the rebate. A Titan at 500 over = a Chevy at Invoice w/rebate. Did I mention that Chevy is a nice truck? Heck, I could drive one of those too ;)
3. There are 5 Nissan dealers within 20 miles. Which one wants my business? I have a phone, email and a car. I'll find the best deal.
4. I'm VERY informed. I know what invoice is, to the dollar. I know the option packages, I know the truck.

In my humble experience, Dealers respond to these things. A well informed customer that is patient and willing to shop, AND willing to buy (I always make sure they understand that if they "take care of me", they'll get a sale) is very enticing. I actually think #2 on my list is important. Dealers that think I might just "cut bait" and go for another brand entirely, at a whim, seem to want to do more to get the deal done while I'm in front of them.

Dunno if any of this will help, but I hope so.

I agree half shovel...

Sounds like we think the same, I did everything you mentioned about negotiating. My "other" truck was the Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, which is what I would have bought if it were not for the Titan.
