ordering a custom titan

I'm thinking about buying a 2010 titan but i've never bought a new vehicle before.

I want the crew cab 4x4 SE LWB, but I want bench seats up front instead of captains chairs. is that level of customization possible if i ordered from a dealership or I am pretty much stuck to what the website will let me configure?

dropping down to XE is not possible since it won't let me select the long bed option.

There are only so many ways to configure a Titan from the factory. The dealer may have some leeway but it may be a "dealer option". When I ordered mine I used the web site to get it just the way I wanted it and then printed that out and handed it to my broker.

thanks for the info, i'm going to go to the dealer this weekend and find out if its a dealer option.

any idea why you can only get the long bed on the SE this year? previous years you could get it on the Pro4x or even XE i think.

I hadn't even noticed that the LWB was only available in SE. Seems strange to me. I initially thought that maybe Nissan felt it only an option on trims commonly used for work-truck levels but if that were the case the XE would be more likely than any trim to have the LWB.

The only thing i can think of is possibly the SE trim is the 'sweet spot', the trim that is most commonly sold and therefore that's the level to focus. That's just my hunch as I'm neither a marketing or salesman. I'm an 'enginerd'.

Unless things have changed in the past coupe of years, it is possible to order the SE with front bench seats....but not the LE version. If you go this route, it will probably take 8 weeks or so for it to be built and to take delivery, since this is not a common configuration.

I just happened to be looking around Nissanusa.com yesterday for the hell of it and I noticed that they don't even give seat options anymore! My 05 LE has a bench and I know they did offer the Bench in 08s because it was a big deal that they offered heated seats for the first time in a bench. (mine get cold in winter)

Check with a few dealers and see if you can get what you want the way you want it.

You can always get what you want. It just might take some persistence. If they want to sell you a truck, they'll make it happen!

I just don't understand why they need to limit options like they do. In my book a Crew Cab needs to be available with seating for 6. I use my bench every once and a while, expecially when I have to tote my teenager and her friends around.
