I painted my engine cover to match the truck. A can of duplicolor white and duplicolor clear coat and some patience is all it took. I taped off the 5.6 V8 along with the chrome nissan logo. I also removed the metal and rubber gromets from the two bolt holes.
5 coats of white with 15 mins between each fllowed by an hour of drying time. Then a medium coat of clear followed by a second medium coat 15 mins later. And finally a single thick coat with a couple of hours final drying time. Peeled off the tape last and cleaned any excess with my fingernails. Gave it 24 hours to cure before driving to avoid cracks and paint chips. Everything is good so far

Looks awesome. I want to paint mine too. Where did you purchase the cans of clear and the paint? How did you prep the cover before painting? Thanks Brad

A little off topic. Does any one know what size bolts to use and what kind of bolts are they? Thanks

Find a pick and pull yard and get one off a wreck or just by one from any year online.
