Nice... I sanded my engine cover, sprayed two coats of buildable primer, sanded again, then used some 500 degree paint (Aluminum) and masked a bit, then some Red, and afterwards sprayed one light layer of clearcoat... I have pics on my phone, and will have to post it later... After I paint my T, I'll end up redoing my cover to match...

This past week, I ended up picking up a centrifugal draw paint gun from Harbor Freight for 13.50 after coupon and additional 10% manager's special on all my purchases... Going to use it to paint my T's new skin...

...and I've also been eyeballing a $100 airbrush kit that is also on sale with a 40% discount...

Im going to get some engine cleaner this weekend and clean it before i install the cover and the under hood light kit. I will take pics then!

Get a bottle of Simple Green, spray the engine thoroughly first thing in the morning while it's cold, let sit for a few minutes, spray off with water... Start the engine up, let idle, respray with Simple Green again, and spray off again after a few minutes... Shut off engine, use lint free towel to wipe dry... Simple Green is Awesome, no need to buy expensive "engine cleaner sprays"...

I am going to reroute that power cable soon..

Unclip the cowl/hood seal, pull out the plastc snap tabs on each corner by hood hinges, and the front section of the cowl will release... route the cable up into the ample space under the cowl...

OK, here's my painted engine cover... 500 degree Aluminum and 500 degree Cheby Red.. will be redone in the future to match my custom paint job and a Decepticon Logo will be affixed over the removed Nissan burger... enjoy!

Oh yeah... That's the Engine Light Kit reflecting off the cover, and it looks even better at night... especially with the polished Injen CAI...

Sha-Weet!!! Yeah, if you wanna redo it, mask the areas you wanna keep intact, sand the other surfaces, primer and repaint, or just repaint since you already have a good base coat...
