So i got in a accident and my truck is getting worked at a we speak (type). Nothing major just replacing parts and painting. It's a 2006 and it's starting to get the usual fades on the hood and on the roof, no flaking yet. So i thought about it and i think this is the right time to get the whole truck repainted. My question is this should i have them paint the plastic parts also like the door handles, mirrors, bumper covers and side bed covers, tailgate bib, side steps, and will the paint last just as long as on the rest of the truck. Will the paint on these parts peel, flake, or fall off sooner than on the rest of the truck. Thanks in advanced.

Paint it all and do it right. Hell change the color if you want.

Paint on the plastic pieces will not last as long as the rest of the truck. Even if the plastic is prepped properly - and few paint places are really going to do it right, unless you are paying top dollar - those pieces will eventually start to flake and crack. Bumpers will last longer than the rest of that stuff. The black plastic, most people here use the plasti-dip method. Or you can tell them you want the pieces painted, but prepped right, and be prepared for some cost to the point that it might be cheaper to buy some of that stuff as replacements (like door handles).
