Hello. I have a new 17 Titan and noticed a shake and rattle coming from my front passenger seat a few days ago with only 450 miles on the vehicle. My initial concern was that there was an issue with the tires/steering/suspension because this developed over some small bumps at 70 mph with cruise on. Having driven some more this only appears to happen when going over bumps... cruise and speed don't seem to have anything to do with it. At quick glance, I don't see anything wrong with any mechanical components or the seat, but am going to look it over more thoroughly when I have better daylight. I have seen that this is a problem with the frontiers, butI am curious if any Titan owners have had this issue or if anyone has any ideas of what to look out for.

Something is probably loose. When I bought my '14, i almost returned it the within a week because the dash was squeeking so badly. Took it back to the dealer and come to find out the gauge cluster wasn't put together correctly and causing a styrofoam squeeking over bumps. The build quality isnt' that great imo but its easy fixes usually.

If it is the same fold flat seat as the 1st gen Titans, thats the way it is due to the design for it to fold flat. Nothing wrong with the seat, just annoying.

The rain kept me from as closely as I would have liked, but did manage to have someone else drive while I sat in the back. The seat definitely has a stiff bounce to it that is much more persistent than I thought, but most of the noise seems to have been coming from cargo I had in the back. I'm going to keep watching it and definitely have it looked at least by the time I go in for an oil change. Aside from this, I'm happy with the vehicle.

I can't believe that Nissan hasn't fixed this in the 10 years since I bought my Titan. If you look hard enough there is a thread here or perhaps over at ClubTitan.org that details how to take the seat apart and tighten a couple of bolts. I never did that to mine as it wasn't enough to worry about.

By chance did you notice that the passenger seatbelt buckle was twisted? My SV rattles unbelievably without a passenger if that buckle is twisted. The difference is night and day.

I had this issue with mine too, if the passenger seat belt was twisted was 1 reason and the second one was he zipper of the passenger seat leather cover, looking at the passenger seat from the back, on the lower left corner is where the zipper ends, there is a flap that sticks out and that ended up being where the rattle came from on mine, that flap while hitting bumps was hitting a plastic trim, when I get home from work I can take a picture of it

I have a 2018 SL with the same rattling sound. I have tried bucking all belts, rear seats up or down and still get the rattle. Besides the seat belt rattle, any other sources involving the seats or plastic trim in the truck? I can't seem to pin point the source of mine - passenger side but not sure of its front door side or rear. Please help. Thanks

My front passenger seat back in my 2017 crew cab has been rattling since day 1. It annoys the bejeezus out of me. Ended up unzipping the seat cover and putting 8" length of the black 1/2" plumping insulation on the side of the seat against the console and problem is solved. There was enough room under the seat cover and enough give in the plumbing insulation that it doesn't put any strain on the seat cover seams. Also have the issue where if the passenger seat belt was twisted, the buckle would rattle against the side wall of the truck. Whenever someone gets out of the passenger side I just have to remember to reach over and straighten the belt.

Way to go Nissan...oh, i mean Renault....i did the TSB on my seat, involved removing, partial disassembly , drilling a hole and installing a pop rivet. kept it quiet for a few years, now it rattles again. Im done fixing all the bullshit rattles on these things, I just crank up the radio now!

I realize I'm posting a few years later, but I had the same problem and think I have solved it.

I have a 2020 NV200. There's a thin metal panel separating the front part of the business van - the driver and passenger area, from the rear part - the cargo area.

When anyone sits in the passenger sit, it makes a squeaky noise when going over any slight bumps in the road. Also, just sitting in the stool and rocking back and forth will also create that annoying noise.

The noise appears to be from that metal partition which is directly behind the stool. The passenger seat and that metal partition seem to be adjacent to each other. There are a few air vents in that metal partition close to the floor of the van. I placed a long thin two foot long 'pencil' into that air vent (in that metal partition) near the floor, and applied leverage to it, forcing that stick to the floor of the van, applying pressure to that metal partition. That solved the noise issue but of course was not a permanent solution.

I forced a piece of rubber-like material between the bottom of that metal partition and the floor of the van. So far that seems to work.

A better solution might have been to remove the passenger seat and place a thin rubber strip between the back of the passenger seat and that metal partition, but I didn't feel like doing that.
