why what? why put 22"s on my truck? I like the way they look. I don't understand why somone would want to lift a truck 7" just to make it harder to get it but I accept it cause different strokes for different folks

ttz32: - Stage V?

ttz32:
what's "- Stage V"?
how did get 55 more hp? what hp vs rwhp? re: "- 360 rwhp"

___

re: piopremier's 22" wheels, as long as it's not meant to off road performance then it makes a lot of sense. wonder how wide them rubbers are? looks good.

I'm just speculating but he's probably got a Steve Millen or Jim Wolfe tweaked twin turbo 300ZX with major performance mods:
bigger intercooler, larger downpipe, exhaust, intake, more boost, new ECU etc.

Often companies market performance packages in increasing cost & horspower,
eg. Stage 1, Stage 2 etc.

hp vs. rwhp typically refers to manufacturers stock SAE "net"

horsepower at the crank VS. dyno'd horsepower at the rear wheels of an actual car

the difference between RWHP & crank HP can be 15-30% due to parasitic driveline loss, so one could guess his TT300Z is generating 415hp at the crank if it makes 360hp at the rear wheels on a dyno

Stage V is a way to express what mods I have without listing them on the site. Those who are familiar with the 90+ 300zx community knows what it means. I didn't get 55 extra HP, I got about 100hp. The difference between rwhp and the hp rating you get from the manufacturer is when Nissan says the Titan gets 305 hp, that means it gets 305 hp at the crank of the motor. When JetForeman dyno'd his Titan, he got 258 rear wheel horsepower (rwhp). When I dyno'd my Z, I got 360 rwhp. Rear wheel HP is better and more true measure of power because it takes into account drive train lose.

beyond aesthtics why does it make sense ??

isn't there a point of diminishing returns with larger wheels &
the INCREASE in unspring weight ??

that much extra rotational mass will cost performance at some point

extra rotational mass

extra rotational mass is more efficient at speed, may drag the accleration, but will be better for keeping the momentum
so 22s good for highway speeds and handling

As far as size, the tires are 305/45s much wider then the stock tires. The stock tires makes contact with the road over about 8.5"s the 305's are about 10.5". and the new rim/tire combo weights 30 pounds more per tire so its only about a 120lb change.

Looks great piopremier...that's the beauty of the Titan, it looks great in many wheel and tire combo's.

It's mainly an aesthetic issue. The smaller profile, hampers ride quality, they weigh more....But it probably handles better.

The Dodge has been better in the handdling dept. than the Titan, I think it is entirely attributed to the 20" facotry rims. Not my cup of tea, but....
The Titan pictured above LOOKS GREAT...well done

Pio,

Any problems with clearance between the tires and the fender or fender wells with that wide of a tire??
