I have a 2004 CC that has rust on the wheel arch. There is a bed near me with no rust from a 2008 CC. Awhile ago I called the dealer to see if it would fit and I think they said yes. Do you guys know if it will fit my ‘04? Thanks

All the beds from 2004-2015 are interchangeable on the same model/version - Crew cab short bed to short bed, long bed to long bed, etc. But how much rust is on your wheel well? If it's just starting, it may be cheaper & easier to just have it ground, filled and repainted.

Do you have any other details on this post? This is literally the only confirmation I can find anywhere that the 2008+ beds will work for the earlier titans. My guess is this is correct and it is only cosmetic changes but the specs are written differently due to insurance.

Hey thanks for the info JD I appreciate it. The rust is pretty bad on one side and the other side is starting to blister. I already had it repaired once and the rust came back all pissed off with a vengeance 6 months later. I called a guy yesterday and he said it would be about $1200 to do both sides and it probably would come back. I found a replacement box for $800 with no rust at a local salvage yard so I think that's my best option. I need to swap out the fuel sender anyway because it's anyone's guess beyond 300 miles how much I have in the tank. As much as I dislike the fit and finish of the truck, I have had zero problems with the engine and the next one will be a QX56. Maybe I will get the next vehicle rustproofed.

I have a 2004 KC LE and noticed that i have a good amount of rust behind my fender flare, since we both have basically the same truck, I was wondering if you have looked into a replacement wheel arch that body shops are using? If so let me know what you've found out, if anything. Thanks.

An update on my situation - turns out the bed at the salvage yard was for a LWB truck and as we all know my '04 is a SWB so no go on the bed swap. Russ - now that I am looking to repair wheel arch I too am looking for replacement panels. A couple years ago JC Whitney carried a replacement wheel arch for about $50 that was welded in but it appears they no longer carry it. I have been searching high and low for a similar panel on Al Gore's superhighway with no luck. I find it hard to believe that this thing has dropped off the interweb without a trace. It would have been perfect for my situation - it was basically a cut and weld piece that was made for the arch rust. I will keep looking and let you know what I find. Hate to throw $1200 at a $7000 truck just to sell it knowing that the rust and the next owner will eventually come knocking on my door.

That's exactly the piece I'm looking for also, with no luck. It would be perfect for my situation. I'll continue to search. If you happen to come up with a place that carries them, please let me know, and I'll do the same. Thanks.

I would call around and find another body shop. A good body shop can make their own panels, and if they've cut, welded, painted and prepped properly it should be no more susceptible than any other good metal on the truck. Worst case scenario, they cut their own panel from another junked truck. It sounds like the guy that told you that doesn't want to be bothered with a repair that's not using out of the box parts, so he's trying to get you to go elsewhere.
