Reasons why I went that far...

5) Initiating a US tour of all the cities and Ann Arbor was number one with AA.
4) Needed to have a pasty and a pop.
3) Didn't believe my friends who said the entire road system in Michigan is under construction.
2) Wanted to meet some folks who drive Titans in a state owned by the Big Three and live to tell about it.
1) Was told that someone was selling their overheard rack for cheap! :jester:

Or actually, my family is in Traverse City and I needed to visit my Dad after he got out of surgery...
OR all the above!? LOL

Well perfect timing then.
man it sucks i had to miss it. any vids or anything else
hoping we have another one close by so i can make that. anybody know of any
I think Cujo is already planning one soon! PM him:cheers:
A Pasty??? I forgot the translation on that one, help me out! I like Pops, I'll have one with lunch today. :)

Hope things went well for your Dad (can't call him Pop, or I'd be all confused again!). Glad you had a good time, not everyday you get to see a test vehicle. Thanks for the pics.

Raleigh, NC. Turnersville, NJ. Traverse City, MI. Couldn't find a fourth one on the way back. LOL.

Page 150 of Street Trucks August issue has a list of 41 Things to do before you die, I've done 19 of them so far. Good stuff. We should all get a copy of thiis list and post it up.

Maria and I went right past the pasty shop and didn't get any for this trip.

When we head back up, I'm bringing an extra cooler!
make sure you drink some pop with that!
wow... this does bring back memories... funny how the terminology of bottled soda pops vary throughout the country... I grew up in Frankfort, MI (population 1100)... used to go hang out in Traverse City (about half hr. drive away) in the summer, cause that's where the closest malls were... between then (18 yrs. ago) and now... I have gone from calling a Pepsi/Coke, etc. which is a "pop", to "coke", to "cola", and now everthing is a "soda"... now back to the thread... Nice pics!

Ahh Frankfort. Did you live off Crystal Lake?

Took 115 there all the time! Drive through Beulah and Benzonia on the way to ....Sleeping Bear Dunes.:hi:

You're a long way from your roots that's for sure.

LOL, I almost fell outta my chair... you are bringing back too many memories... I lived on the eastern outskirts of Frankfort, right after the gateway... I feel privileged to have grown up in such a spectacular area, however it is now a great place to visit, but I don't think I would return to set up homeage... My folks still keep our house there, but my dad uses it pretty much for hunting and fishing getaways, since they relocated to the Rochester Hills, outside the greater Detroit area, back in 1996... I enjoy those summers in that area, but the winters will whoop your @$$ if you are not used to them, being right off the lakeshore... I can thank the US Army for my travels and relocation to California, after numerous deployments, a handful of overseas tours, I ended up finding the lady of my life and settling down... Every couple of years, I make a two week summer trip out to see the folks and hit the old hometown for relaxation and shootin the chit with old high school pals who never left town... enuf said about that, now if anyone ever get's the opportunity to go to visit Frankfort, go walk out on the pier, on the Frankfort side, and when you get to the end... stop, turn around, and look into the dark water between the pier and the beach... "that's where I got swept off by a monster wave, when I was 13 yrs. old, and learned how to swim like a fish..."
