Right, so summer's approaching and figured it's about time to start talking and planning. Sand Lake was an awesome inaugural event, last year's bash at Wildmike's Lake Cushman getaway raised the bar, where do we go next? Back to Sand Lake, a repeat of Lake Cushman if that's cool with Wildmike, or somewhere up in the mountains? I'm fairly familiar with the hills outside of Ellensburg where there's plenty of full-size friendly trails and there's many places to go put holes in things from quite a long ways away. Also, dates, which is a better month for people get away for a weekend trip?

Could do Cushman in June. Maybe the weekend of the 21st or the 28th. Last year we missed fire restrictions by 1 week. Camping with no fire sucks.

Maybe do 2 events.

Would be fun seeing everyone again.

At some point I'll dig up some old pics from Manashtash and Umtanum ridges, but imagine long vistas and deep valleys and a whole lot of central Washington brown hills. Plenty of areas to shoot, camp, 4wheel, dirt bike/quad, etc... If you get bored with that there's the ever popular float the Yakima option. One drawback is that campfires are a big no-no, you can set the whole ridge on fire during the summer.

Gawd, my baby was sooo young back then! These were taken up Durr Road south of Ellensburg in back in 2005.

There's a small creek to ford on the other side of the truck in this pic.

Ellensburg in the distance

A bit of a hill climb, hard to tell in the pic though

I'd totally roam those hills and shoot out of my window while doing so. Joe, how far is it from our area? I suppose I could gaggle it...

I might have like 1 or 2 vaca days by then. I have to use some when my brother comes out here in may. That date could work though, just can't go too late in the summer with the wife pregs and all.
