Powdercoating Moto Metals???

Has anyone bought a perfectly good set of chrome moto metals and had the chrome stripped? I was curious about how they'd look in black. Looking at the 950s... hmmm.... :D

If you've got the money for it go for it. Personally I would just shop around for wheels that were already black.

I would agree with this ^^ .... I was able to 'steal' a set of the 951b wheels(gloss black/chrome) from Hooligan and that allowed me to have them pc'd matte black

They look great too, SD. And a smart move to buy used if you're going to pc or rattle can them anyway.
thanks. good to see you back online....
You can have them coated without stripping the chrome. Only if the chrome is in good shape and wont peel when curing, lightly blast the part to give the powder something to adhere to and spray. We do it all the time.
Even better, check out you local powder coating shop and ask to look at Black Chome coating. Tiger Drylac makes one and I'm sure others do too. The existing chrome would make a great reflective base coat.
I Had A Set Of 951's That Were Chromed And Ended Up Changing Them To Black...

Took About 4 Days And About $200. Came Out Just The Way I Wanted Them... I Wish I Got The Black 951's In The First Place!
