I have a 2004 LE with power passenger seat. The up and down switch has failed. In order to fix it, it will require replacing the entire bottom of the seat at a cost of $1,450.00. The seat switch is tied in with the air bag, this apparently was to save money. (NOTE: the drivers seat with the air bag is on a separate control, this means if the switch is defective you can replace just the switch or the same with the air bag). Nissan's approach seems to be they can save a lot of money, perhaps $20 per vehicle and selling about 2,000,000 vehicles that is a lot of savings. However, when the consumer may have a problem, he is given a whopping $1450 bill ( $1200 for the seat and $250 for the labor to install)
It appears Nissan will end up losing a lot of good will and gain a lot of bad publicity unless they change their approach real quick.:smoke:
