My 2017 didn't come with the power tailgate lock.

Does anyone know if they ran the wiring harness out to the tailgate or will i have to do that if I buy the Nissan factory tailgate lock?

I talked to someone who bought one of the OEM kits one ebay. He you have to run the harness from the back of the truck all the way up to the cab. In the rear passenger side there is a connector to hook up to.

I haven't done it yet but hope to soon. I'll post pictures when it goes in.

I've installed the OEM electronic tailgate actuator and harness, it took about 2.5-3 hrs to install. Overall, the instructions are fairly easy and make sure you install the relay assembly first inside the cab and then route the harness alongside the frame towards the tailgate. Everything should be prewired, primarily plug and play. Replace the existing harness in the tailgate with the new harness provided as this will power the rear camera (if you have one) and the actuator.

Nissan won't sell it now unless your truck came with it. They check by requiring your vin # when you order. Also, currently it's on back order anyway.
