Do you have an issue with your truck when you run 87? I typically run 87 in my '20 and it seems to run just fine with it.I have found that the new Titans with the VK56VD (2016+) do not like 87.
Pre 2016 trucks with the VK56DE absolutely no issue running 87.

That’s why I run 93 at every fill up.I say go read The Engine Knock Thread and then ask yourself if spending an extra $12 for a full fill-up on average (regular vs premium prices in Texas) or $4.00 (if you have a Costco or Sams club card as premium is cheaper here) is worth the peace of mind. While the ECU should adjust the timing to eliminate pre-detonation, why risk it? I'd rather give the engine the best now, over having problems later. Think of your truck like a world class athlete, would that athlete perform better on a steady diet of McDonalds or a steady diet of gourmet cooking?
Thats simply not trueThe engine knocking has nothing to do with gas quality and everything to do with a problem with one of the cylinder was not being honed properly during assembly.

Because it's only been 30K miles? You can run the cheapest fuel, oil, take your truck through the cheap $3.00 automated car wash, all you want. I'm just telling you what I consider. I consider $4-$12 a tankful to be not that big a deal, I hand wash my truck even though it's more work than driving it through a carwash. Engine knock is generally pre-detonation. He might be referring to my post of the knock thread. I posted the thread just to point out that knocking is an issue that's been reported on a lot of trucks. I would say that 93 octane is like a multi-vitamin. Most people will claim you're just throwing money away, and that may be true, but for a few pennies a day, isn't that a low enough cost for the chance that your multi-vitamin is helping your body run optimally? The truth of it is that engine "pinging" or "pre detonation" as its really called is 9 times out of 10 do to low octane fuel. Its a scientific fact and even stated in most automobiles owners manuals.
The case with the new Titan 20-21 model is that they run fine on 87 but are optimized on 93. The ecu can pull timing on the lower octane and it will run fine and there will be no knock.

You're more than welcome to put whatever you want in your truck, I bought a V8 knowing that it was going to cost more for ownership. They do make trucks with 4-cylinder engines if you really want to skimp.

Buying a nice dinner is also considered a waste of money by some. Why spend money going to a nice restaurant when you can just grab a microwave dinner? Why buy some nice shoes when you can just buy a pair of shoes at Walmart? Your priorities are different than mine, which is fine. There is no right or wrong here, I'm just telling the OP why I go with premium. Premium here is about $2.34 a gallon, which is pretty inexpensive. Pre-ignition is not the same, it is when pockets of fuel/air begin to burn before the plug fires. And is usually caused by too hot of a plug or excessive carbon buildup.
I wasn't talking about either of those.
TitanSSoul mentioned "engine knock thread" which is about a known manufacturing problem with some 5.6 engines pre-2019 that lead to "knocking" of a piston. Not at all related to Detonation or preignition and not caused by use of 87 octane, or prevented by using 93.
If you have one of those problem engines, it will develop a "knock" no matter what fuel you use.
Using premium gas vs regular will cost you $3-5k extra every 100,000 miles and in no way will guarantee your engine will last longer or get better milage and will not make more power (pre my2020).
That's alot of money that could be used for extended warranty which is exactly what I did. I have a 125k mile bumper to bumper that cost me about $1000.
I don't cheap out on things. I get my service done at the dealer and i only hand wash or touchless. And I don't buy gas from sketchy noname gas stations, I only buy 87 from higher volume name brand stations.
Spending extra $ on premium gas is just wasting money. It's a fact and it's been proven many times.
