I want to be able to valve and adjust the preload on my fox shocks without having downtime due to shops being busy and slow...So I wanna learn to re valve and rebuild my own shocks. Would you guys think this spring compressor would be fine? or since its the coil spring IE death machine, i should stay away from harbor freight? Single Action Strut Spring Compressor

i've tried the rentable sh!t ones from auto zone and they don't fit on the coil spring because there isn't enough room.

Reviews aren't great on that unit.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the style compressor - Koch KT20252 - I got years ago for work on BMW and Mercedes should work with the strut off the vehicle. I did a quick look at the Koch website, and I can't get my unit to come up, so may be discontinued. Bav Auto lists a similar unit - about $250. BMW Parts and BMW Accessories | Bavarian Autosport Search for P/N B8800017. Ebay has same style at a third that cost - but tool brands I don't recognize.

In any event, I have used my compressor quite a bit - safe, works quite well, and heavy as h3ll. Plan on clamping the tool in a vice, then all is good. Recommend this style - see photos.

You "should" be able to just spin the top hat all the way out, and the spring comes loose. If not, then someone put too long of a spring on there.

I've had to deal with it all the time at work. Granted they are only for UTV's, but we've had springs 2" too long, and they are NO fun. But we dont use any special tools, just flip the shock upside down, and clamp it in a vice. If you cant get it with a friend by hand, then ive done a few ratchet straps, but its not exactly the funnest thing to do...

I couldn't get it to budge with ratchet straps, trust me i've tried the "redneck" ways.

I thought its a hyper coil on these? also i thought i heard its a longer spring then the shock? That still doesn't allow me to adjust preload, if you try to adjust it with the spring tension, it cross threads. Yeah, i know, terrible design, thanks Fox.

We are in the process of renovating our shop and are having a 1 day sale today (9/9) to clear out some inventory. Huge price savings on all of our upper control arms, lower control arms and kits that are in stock. Shoot me a PM, email or give us a call for pricing. What does not sell today will go back to regular pricing.

Here is some of the items for sale:

Dirt King 2wd/4wd 04-15 Titan Heim UCAs

Link to our website: Nissan Titan heimed Upper Control arms

Overview:
There are multiple issues when lifting your vehicle with stock upper control arms. Both the geometry and strength are compromised due to over articulating the UCA’s. We solved these problems by designing our arms with increased castor and repositioned pivot angles reducing stress on the joints. The increased castor allows for proper alignment and improved handling. We have also replaced the weak factory ball joints with 1” stainless steel uniballs for maximum strength along with increased articulation. For the inner pivots we used heavy duty FK heims for additional adjustability in the arm. To mount the arms to the spindle we include high grade 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers and grade 8 hardware. All of the components on our upper control arms are rebuild-able or replaceable to make this product last a lifetime. The arms come preassembled and include detailed instructions for easy installation.

Includes:
• CAD designed upper control arms
• FK 3/4" heims
• FK 1" stainless steel uniballs
• 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers
• Grade 8 mounting hardware
• Durable black powder coated finish

Additional Notes:
• Maximum backspacing: 5.25"
• 2WD and 4WD compatible
• Additional adjustability for vehicles with alignment issues
• Designed to clear the coil bucket for maximum lift

Compatibility:
Nissan Titan 2WD/4WD 2004-2015
Nissan Armada 2WD/4WD 2005-2006
Nissan Pathfinder 2WD/4WD 2004

Dirt King 2wd/4wd 04-15 Titan Bushing UCAs

Link to our website: Nissan Titan Bushing Upper Control Arms

Overview:
After seeing the issues with other bushing UCAs we decided to develop a competitively priced and functional UCA. These UCAs feature polyurethane bushings and heavy duty Moog ball joints. For proper fitment our polyurethane bushings are custom machined to clear the rounded corners in the pocket. This will help prevent noise and extend the lifespan of the bushings. The outer bushing sleeves are made from 2.25" .250 wall tubing and gusseted for additional strength. They include zerk fittings allowing you to service them. The Moog ball joints are completely sealed making them ideal for harsh weather conditions. Most importantly our UCAs have increased castor and additional clearance for lifted or extended travel applications. The increased castor is needed to keep the vehicle within alignment specs when raising the ride height. The arms come fully assembled and include detailed instructions making installation quick and easy.

Includes:
• Chromoly upper control arms
• 90 degree zerk fittings
• Custom machined polyurethane bushings
• .250" wall inner bushing sleeves
• Moog upper ball joints

Additional Notes:
Maximum wheel backspacing: 5.25"
2WD and 4WD compatible
Works with factory or aftermarket coilovers
Designed to clear the coil bucket for maximum lift

Performance Lower Control Arms

Overview:
The Dirt King performance lower control arms are remarkably stronger and have improved geometry compared to the factory lower control arms. We have corrected the ball joint angle reducing stress and wear on the joint. For the 4WD models we eliminated axle rub by improving the shock placement allowing for more clearance between the axle and the shock. We have also upgraded the from the weak factory ball joints to heavy duty Moog ball joints. For the inner pivots we replaced the soft factory bushings with our custom machined delrin bushings. There are several major advantages of using delrin bushings compared to the softer bushings such as stock and polyurethane. The delrin bushings eliminate forward and backward movement of the lower arm, allow for a freer range of upward and downward motion unlike the injected factory bushings, and have a much longer life span than the competition. The arms are CAD engineered with a complete boxed plate construction and weight saving internally ribbed design. They are also tabbed to accommodate for bump stops and limit straps to be used if you choose. All of these components come together to provide a reliable and smooth ride both on and off road. The arms come fully assembled and include detailed instructions for easy installation.

Includes:
Boxed lower control arms
• Moog ball joints with serviceable grease fittings
• Brushed stainless steel logo plates
• Tabbed with bump stop plates & limit strap tabs
• Delrin bushings with servicable grease fittings
• Durable black powder coated finish

Additional Notes:
Maximum wheel backspacing: 5.25"
2WD and 4WD compatible
Complete bolt on, no modifications required
The vehicle's track width does not increase
Doesn't work with the factory swaybar
Doesn't work with shocks that use bushings

Billet Heim Tie Rods

Variable Height Shackles

Long Travel Shackles

All these parts as well as individual components such as rebuild kits, hardware, and accessories!

How does the LT kit ride on road without the sway bar? How does it impact towing?

Anybody have experience towing with the LT kit?

How much weight are you towing? The major impact in your towing capabilities is the rear suspension.

I ran mid travel in the front and towed all kinds of different trailers, never affected how it towed very much. Like Nick said, the rear is where itll affect you.

We retained the sway bar to allow the vehicle to pass safety for vehicles that may be sold at a dealership with this kit.

Nick, that Ram looks sic! But why does the skid come up short of the cross member?
The skid plate mounts to the under side of the frame. It doesn't go back to the cross member where the steering rack attaches. There are existing holes on the frame where it it was mounted so we wanted to keep it 100% bolt on.
