PRG Shackles

We've been working on these for quite some time, but here are our new shackles. Highlights are powdercoated gloss black, fully assembled, adjustable height options (stock, -1/2", -1"), $139 shipped. People have asked why the ends are squared-off, its so the shackle doesn't hit the rib on the bottom of the bed. Second pic is a comparison between the stock and new shackles

Nice stuff. Makes me wish I had held off on purchasing the TC shackles!
Would the -1" require a front end alignment? I have an 08 LE CC 4X4. I think 1" drop would make it level.

No alignment would be required, you haven't changed anything on the front suspension geometry.
It would require an alignment. Any permanent change in rige height front or rear changes the geometry of the set alignment.
HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH, I wouldn't touch the alignment. Lowereing the back of your truck 1" is NOT going to need a front end adjustment.
I've done axle work on heavy equipment... the only time we aligned the front end was after replacing king pins.

i've done springs, shocks, airbags, etc in the rear with no effect to the front. these of course were stock for stock part replacements or seal/bearing jobs...

therefor i don't see why you would need to realign your front end. think about it this way, if you put gear in your bed and it sinks an inch, do you need an alignment?
p.s. nice new pieces greg!
lets see, droping the rear by 1" would only affect the caster. The difference would be about .4 degrees change. This is not even a consideration by alignment shops as the factory rubber a-arm bushings are not consistant enough to even allow this small an adjustment.

Greg,

Glad to see that you have your new shackles ready. I see that they can get up to an inch of drop but I am still searching for a way to get an additional inch to level the rear end with the front end. I think I recall you or someone mentioning a product to go along with the shackles for additional lowering...helper springs I think?
Are the factory shackles really that prone to breaking if you do not do a bunch of hard off-roading? I do go off-road but I'm talking potholes in dirt roads & the occasional unexpected wash-out.
Im gonna need a set of those.

ditto....well, not NEED, but want....that's the same as need isn't it??:)
How much should I tell SWMBO that I need?
Guys, I've seen these things in person, these things are beefy, and heavy as hell. I don't think even kartman could hurt these!
