Right now im sittin 2.5 inches higher in the back than front. If i get the Pro-4X coils and set some bilsteins on the 2in settin ill be fine correct? cause of the preload from the shocks?... I hope this will give me bout 3in and then i can throw an Add-A-Leaf in the rear and be ready to go.

Truck is 05 King cab 4x4. I don't need a real "flexy" suspension, my off raoding consist of muddy raods, fields, and ditches.

Thanks for any help

I think the recommendation is just the regular 4x4 08+ coil springs and not the Pro-4X ones.

And the middle setting instead of the top setting. So about 1" gain from the coils and 1.5" from the middle setting, for 2.5" total.

Does this combination work without any coil bucket contact??

It should work. The preloading of the coil doesn't cause UCA to coil bucket contact. Longer strut length and/or spacers can because they push the LCA down more.

If the top 5100 setting was used it still shouldn't cause it anymore than the middle or bottom spring perches, but the ride is said to be poor ... firmer and loss of droop travel so when a wheel goes into a hole the rest of the truck has to follow sooner than if it had more droop travel. So smaller road depressions are felt too.

That's why if you want to maximize travel, it is better to use a combination of a small 1.5" leveling kit and less preload, but the leveling kits can cause contact on some Titans when used with the 5100's, so often aftermarket UCA and grinding of the coil bucket lip, at the contact points, are required. The newer Titans are more prone to getting it, but some of the old one's do too, due to their coil bucket position on the frame.

Gotcha, think I'll eventually go with the 08+ springs and the 5100's on middle setting, seems like the most sure way to get a decent ride, a certain amount of leveling, and no bucket contact. Thanks for the clarification.

I have that exactly setup 08+ 4x4 coils, 5100's in the middle setting. Zero coil bucket contact. I tried a .85 spacer (PRG 1 1/2 level kit) and I did get contact but like NorCal said that happens on some but not all Titan's.

Is the truck pretty level after doing this??

Why exactly 08+ coils rather than Pro 4x? What is the difference?

From what I am reading it's because of the stiff ride associated with the Pro 4X coils, that in combination with setting the Bilstein's at the middle setting might be to rough for a lot of people.

I wasn't really trying to level my truck I wanted more room in the front wheel well. I think I ended up with about 2 1/2 inches of lift which actually had my front end slightly higher than the back on level ground. I installed a 1" spacer in the rear to get the back end slightly higher. Here is a picture leveled before the spacer in the rear. The front tire is sitting on a storm grate so it is hard to see but the front end was higher than the rear. I would say it is a safe bet that the setup will get your truck perfectly level at the least. Make sure you go with the 08 4x4 coil (part# 54010-ZR40A) and not the stiffer pro-4x (part#54010-ZR41A).

In theory should gain 1 1/2 inches of lift with 08 coils and 5100's not using the level rings. The shock is 1/2 longer than stock and the 08 4x4 coils are 15" long uncompressed compared to the 04-07 4x4 coils which are 14" long.

I guess I could bust out the tape measure and see where that would put me, thanks.

ok, dumb question (sorry, I am new to all this)...when you guys are talking about 08+ vs pro4x... are you literally talking about an 08 year model? or is 08+ just the name of the spring?

or, asked another way... If I just need an 08+ year model spring, could I find one in a junk yard?

Yes they are referring to the year. +08 springs are a bit longer which gives you lift and the pro4x springs are the same length as the +08's but a stiffer spring rate which gives a bit more lift than the +08's. You could definetly find them in a junkyard but it really wouldn't be worth the headaches when you can get them off rockauto new for around $65 a spring IIRC.

Got the Bilsteins in. Ordered the 08 coils today, even though the guy at the dealership claims there is no difference in them. I'm trusting you guys over the dealership. :)
