This truck is the cats a$$!!! I won't be getting rid of or griping about it for a long time! Other truck owners see it and say "how did I overlook that beast when I was in the market?" I tell em "it's a rice burner, remember??" LOLOL to them!!!
Do yourself a favor and count how many have the same common problems. They are the norm. I love it when people here who are still under 60k miles and warranty post to chill too. Tell ya what guys, I'll let you pay out of pocket to fix the stuff that should not break and I can drive your truck and you can have my Sentra rental while it is in the shop. I have owned Big 3 products. No issues. Look over their forums and use the logic just posted on sales er complaint. Ford has sold over 7X as many F150's as Nissan has Titans and I do not see stickies on failing diffs and such for 3 model years. I love my truck when it works, but would not buy another Nissan unless things make a big change in their QC.
FWIW, on the flip side of things, my wife drives an 05 QX56 that I loved so much, it was my driver for getting the Titan. As much as I love that truck, the first two years we had it, it was at the dealership being fixed more than I think we were driving it. Everything from the brakes multiple times to the stitching coming out of the leather seats to the power tailgate motor dying to the ECU needing to be reflashed because the ABS would randomly fire...
The one thing that appears Nissan dealers are obviously missing that Infiniti dealers have obviously grasped is customer service. They treated us like gold whenever there was a issue and my wife would immediately get another QX56 on loan even if it was only a 2 hour job...after all the pain we had to deal with, they finally got everything right and the truck has been flawless for the last year.

My buddy HAD an 04 Armada which got replaced due to a Lemon. Then shortly after that he upgrade to an 06' QX56. From what he tells me... Most of all problems still arise or are the same as the Armada. The difference is that with the Infiniti dealers they treat you really good. If you have a Nissan they treat you like crap. Heck, Isn't Nissan & Infiniti the same company or somehow related? and it seems that these dealerships try and find ways out not to cover your claim even though you bought their so called, "Bumper to Bumper warranty" why even bother to buy it if one doesn't read the fine print. My 2002 Tundra did me no wrong with 90k+ miles on it. It's kinda sad that i would know my service writers first and last name while i can't even remember the names at the Toyota dealer. Also, to this day.. My friends QX56 still has problems to be dealt with. One thing that the Infiniti dealer said to him is that they noticed a drop in K&N filter and told him that it is an "aftermarket product" and he will note that down on his profile. My friend said, "Don't you sell K&N filters in your parts department?" Service writer says, "Yes we do, (while hitting the backspace that from his profile on the cpu)

Nissan & Infiniti are the same company, but all dealers are independant. How one dealership treats you or fixes things for you could be entirely different than another. I've worked with two different Infiniti dealerships though and both were phenominal.
Do i hate the Titan? No way! I hate/rave/rant about the customer service and how Nissan won't stand behind their products. They brag on how tough their trucks are but fail to go the extra distance when aftermarket products are introduced. I guess they teach their sales people to be nice and want a Titan until you have a problem with it in their service department.
Yeah some dealers are ok. Or maybe its just the people. When I went to have my axle seal replaced under warranty, the first guy I talked to was a complete a-hole. Well, another guy ended up taking me and never said anything about my TT or any of my mods. He had enterprise come pick me up (with a supermodel driving, mind you) and take me to their office. I rented an 06 F-150 just for kicks and giggles. Biggest piece of garbage truck ever. Granted it was a base model, but EVERYTHING from the way the wind blew the truck around, to the dash, to how UNcomfortable the seats were, and how underpowered (although it was a 4.6) it was made me never want one and to absolutely fall in love with my Titan all over again. And from some Ford owners I've talked to, there's not a huge difference in power feel from the 4.6 and the 5.4
Perhaps you should actually look up the numbers before you look like a moron.
Nissan has never sold 100k Titans in a year. IIRC sales peaked in 2005 and have declined ever since. Last entry on pickuptruck.com had them selling just over 30k for 2008. In other words Ford and GM sell more F150's or 1500 Silverados in one year than Nissan has sold Titans in 4 years. Who do you think should have the larger complaint file by sales numbers?
A year ago I would have said I loved my Titan, but it just never seems to stop going to the dealership for stuff that should just not fail. This isn't the first truck or vehicle Nissan has ever built. Quick list you ask?
1) Leaking transfercase at 5,000 miles
2) Brake judder, fix done at 15k miles
3) Evap valave fails
4) bolt holding windshield wiper arm on falls off
5) 1st rear axle seal goes
6) 2 weeks later 2nd rear axle seal goes
7) front wheel bearing goes
8) 3rd rear axle seal
Drivetrain warranty is now up
9) front pinion seal goes
10 left manifold cracks
11) right manifold cracks
12) Front diff blown
13) Evap valve fails yet again
There is no excuse for 3 axle seal failures, a bad wheel bearing, a bad pinion seal and a blown front diff in 70k miles. Sorry. This truck is a daily driver and tows my travel trailer about 6k miles a year. 4wd gets used in snow and the occasional muddy fire road. It isn't like I am doing track days or running the Rubicon with this thing. When it is good I love it. I just can't deal with failures on parts that should easily go 100k miles. I haven't had this much trouble in my last 3 vehicles which all easily topped 100k and just neded routine maintenance.

Well, all I can say is sorry for your luck. Why haven't you got rid of it then? If any vehicle I bought new had that many problems I would get rid of it.
Don't even get me started on the problems I had with my Chevy. Even those weren't so bad until i bought the Titan and then realized how bad the Chevy was.
No wonder Ford and Chevy owners don't complain much, they don't really know what junk piles they're driving.
As for me, I love Nissans. Best vehicles I have ever owned. On my 5th one now with the Titan. I have logged almost 500,000 miles on Nissans.
I have owned my Titan 3 1/2 years now. Other than a few TSB's sent to me in the mail I haven't had 1 problem with the Titan. I take that back, It did have a leaking transfer case which turned out to be 1 loose bolt. Wow, big problem there.
I have an bullet proof rear end. I run Amsoil 75W-90 in it. And if by some chance the rear end has problems then it's Tru-trac time.
We have a '97 Maxima that has been awesome. 115,000 and still going strong. Didn't even need brakes until 108,000. I think it had a loose power sterring hose TSB. No other problems at all. Should go to 200,000 easily.
The Titan has over 30,000 now and looks like the brakes should go 80,000.
Been running it to redline since 1200 miles. At least 500-1000 burnoffs, plenty of those in reverse. If the rear end was going to go I think it would have by now. I tow my boat at wide open throttle, sometimes 95 for miles. One tough truck I tell ya.
I think this is a case of like something tell 100 people, hate something tell 1000 people.
WildMike - At 30k I loved my Titan too. Breaks were an inconvenience when Nissan was picking up the tab under warranty. After fighting to get a pinion seal and $1600 of front axle replacement done under good will then have the manifolds let go doesn't exactly fill me with love for Nissan. I bought it based on very positive reviews from friends who own Altimas and Maximas and have have owned more than one. My rear diff (knock on wood) is the only big item frequently reported here left that hasn't failed. I am actually considering the TruTrac as cheap insurance. Why don't I get rid of it you ask? First off it is not paid for. Second have you looked at the Titan's resale value lately? I'd be taking a beating just to get rid of it. I would not go upside down on a new truck but I would certainly not get full market value from a stealership on a trade. Better to hope the bugs are finally worked out of it and the new parts and ride it out until it is paid for at this point. The engine and tranny do work awesome and it tows my travel trailer great. In fact if I get another truck it will be an F250 V10 as I know the 5.4L does not hold candle to the 5.6L.

Nissan never really advertised or marketed the Titan very well. Virtually no advertising last year and the high gas prices are probably the big reason for the low numbers in '08.

It's amazes me to read stories like this about problems with the Titan. I bought mine used with 42k miles and have had it 3 years (67k miles now) with only one problem, and I have the "problem prone" '04 model. Last year two of the body mounts loosened up a little and were making a popping sound. Left it at the dealer for a couple of hours and they tracked down the problem and fixed it for $50. At this point, my only regret is buying the extended warranty. It seems like it was a waste of money, but it gives me extra peace of mind until it times out next year (I definitely won't hit the 100k mileage limit by then). Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky or you've been incredibly unlucky. Then again, us truck drivers are good about getting millions of miles of service out of our vehicles.
This is my third Nissan truck. I bought a new '85, a new '95, and this used '04 (I get the urge for a new Nissan every 10 years, I wonder what will be available in '15). I've had about 20 other vehicles and the Nissans have been far and away the most reliable.
