You want to buy and install an oil catch can to help prevent carbon and oil residue buildup in the intake and on the valves. This will also extend spark plug life and keep performance at its peak
! This will allow any oil drawn from the PCV system to be caught in a container instead of being drawn into the intake plenum.
Open Wide Performance | Quality. Passion. sells them $100 shipped. They are quality baffled cans. PM them to place an order. The catch can in not listed on the site yet.
Here is a pic of Venom and the Proper routing of an oil catch can. make sure to hook up the lines correctly or it will not work properly! This will keep the oil out of the intake , Off the valves and away from the spark plugs. This should stop some smoking and reassure you the engine is ready for another 100K plus.
Parts list needed
1. Oil catch can ( Baffled )
2. 3/8 Tee x2
3. Marine grade zip ties for a proper seal( Clamps can be used but are overkill and ugly )
4. 10 ' of 3/8 Oil resistant hose like Transmission line . do NOT use fuel line or SILICONE hose.
I installed mine behind the power steering reservoir. Fit great and no issues there. Feel free to mount where you would like. Just route the hoses properly.
DO NOT BUY A VENTED CAN ( filter on the top usually ) The VK requires a vacuum system to circulate back to the base of the engine to keep pressure in check. Must be a closed can design!
Any questions just ask!
