There is a big hole on my 2020, all others seem to have it too, behind fuel door area if u look in the wheel well. I saw this when I first got it in september. I just drove it in some snow and all the crud they put on roads, and just washed today and rinsed that area out. Stuck my hose in the hole. Lots of dirty water came out that matched what was coming out from under rear number. So rinse that area!!! I can see things rusting in there in future.
PSA-. Rinse out the area in drivers side rear wheel well behind fuel door!

Yep..just went out and checked 17 p4x,the plastic wheel well fender lining thing leaves a nice gap behind the fuel door,why?the other side is closed in..

I see that too.. Maybe the fuel filler tube overheats?? WTF
Maybe to get a wrench in there to assemble things?not sure why...never had my head in there till i seen this post..somewhere else too blast another can of rust check,in the land of salt and snow!

A great aftermarket accessory idea just presented itself!!!
Maybe Weathertech can invent the 2nd gen Titan rear wheel well gap cover....
i thought about getting some rubber and making my own honestly.
Im thinking the same,we bought the truck used..I thought at first it was a chunk of broken out plastic..never looked that close till today.

Can you post a pic? The T isn't with me at the moment. I do wash my truck frequently and always wash the wheel wells and the lip, but I want to see what you're seeing. I Also use fluid film in the bed holes along rear quarters, just empty half a can on each side.
This is looking in drivers side rear wheel wheel towards front of truck.
if you look at it, it's one big piece. formed to fit like it is. you cannot slide it up as it is molded to fit where it is. it seems almost like we are missing a piece that's supposed to go in that area. every titan i look at though has same issue/lack of shielding there. and if you look in the hole, you will see road grit in there everwhere- good place for rust to take hold. perhaps it's a factory oversight? would love to see if any titan has that covered......
that's the plan unless nissan makes a part for it and they just mass produced thousands of titans without installing that part.
opened a case with nissan. expecting call tomorrow from specialist. if you all can check and report back what years you have and if you have this gap or not, that would help.

Mine is a 2020 and does have that gap. I didn’t notice it until posted here so no idea if my 2018 had it as well.
Don’t hold your breath awaiting a phone call, in the old days when people were honorable you absolutely would receive a call back. I hope I’m wrong.
