I would NEVER allow a 4-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive vehicle to be put on a dynamo. And I wouldn't trust any mechanic who did it.
Question on machine used during inspection

I don't know what the machine is called, but it's kind of like a dynamo. The inspector puts the front wheels on it and it spins the wheels and moves them side to side to test them. He then repeats it for the back wheels.
My question is whether or not this will harm the 4WD system of my truck. Do I need to do anything special to avoid damage, or is it ok to put the truck on it as is?
